To be clear: this isn't necessarily 100% happening. We're just gauging interest at this point.
Even if we did do it, we'd do a trial and if people really didn't like it, we would stop it
Yes.
No.

Yea but it'll be unfair to the new gangs though because the older gangs got their hours easier because bases are less cramped.
What if just host the first event in the base where there's less players instead of it being hosted in random bases?

Actually nvm fort players don't take the base so it'll be pointless...carry on
I personally believe this is a terrible idea, limiting players to 5 bases will not make basing 'competitive like the past' because in the past there were a lot less players. theres a reason that nobody attacks certain bases and leaving only certain bases open (or closed) is a bad idea. the reason for not attacking them can range from poor base design to knowing you cannot win. limiting the amount of bases just limits the variety and options which everyone has, as well as makes it much harder for newer gangs and anyone without a large number of people. currently if you were to attack a base on average it would be 1 gang vs 1 gang but if you were to do this it would be an annoying cluster of gangs fighting over the base. a better idea that I would propose would be if there was a limit to the members that a gang can have within a base at one time, this would bring more competition by keeping people from camping in one base with their entire gang while not limiting variety and options.
Wow, I can tell you right now, this is not how you improve basing.
While it may be hard for newer or smaller gangs to get a base right now, it will become a lot harder with 5 bases. It will in turn, benefit nobody. The basing hours rewards, assuming they remained the same when this change would happen, would too, be even more difficult to obtain.
What should happen to make basing better is change fort killers. Instead of having the objective of trying to kill the most players in 30 minutes, make it so that the goal is to hold the base the longest in that 30 minute window of time.
This is a terrible idea, let's say this idea does get implemented. All the gangs that have home bases i.e iFreeze, Maelstrom. Navy, Dk, GPN, Menace2Society. Will still be the only ones with a base lol, you're just removing he accessibility of easier bases for weaker gangs. The same gangs you see now, will still be the only ones getting hours, period. Basing will not become more competitive and it will not lead to other gangs getting hours. I believe that this is one of the most dumbest ideas ever proposed because it's attempting to benefit a certain group but, it'll end up hurting their targeted groups over time.
I can bet almost everyone who's commenting positive things about this idea aren't basers or hate the gangs who have home bases, I mean what will happen to gangs getting 15+ hours a day, sure you might say "Oh yes, this is a good idea" but, people say everything is a good idea here in forums, even if someone uploads the crappiest gfx you've ever seen, you'll still find everyone saying "OMG BEST GFX EVER", "PERFECT", "YOU SHOULD APPLY FOR GFX ADMIN", Instead of trying to fix basing, you should focus on all those projects you said would be released 2 years ago, honestly one of the worst ideas in era history.
Personally I think basing is a locked in thing where the only gangs to succeed are the ones that have a foundation already. Very few new gangs pop up nowadays.
So, to improve the basing I think adding more bases to LESSEN the competition will improve basing and give newer gangs a chance.
Era since 2011
HAHAHA! I feel like there so many gangs who wants to base and trying to recruit but can't really compete or win against this good/basing gangs![]()
I honestly love how every single person who does base thinks this is a terrible idea, but every person who doesnt base thinks this is wonderful. You wont promote mass amout of competition it will be extreamly crowded annoying laggy spam fest. Plus you wont be able to second base because you will already need around 15 people to hold a single base. This idea is not good and not thought through at all.
