Don't really see the reasoning. Tzek was VIP so 7500 and no one complains, BAR and Mini just cost iTunes, and no one had issues with them having skins. Don't really see why people will be mad about a 100 ec gun getting a gold skin when guns you can get simply by iTunes do. Just saying I feel like gold skins are much more deserved to ec weapons, because it proves you actually used ec and didn't just hijack your parents credit card. Personally I think there are already too many gold skins, but flame is weapon that I think actually deserves one unlike mini, trek etc.

Pure gold is very malleable (soft, I.e easily bent) and ductile (conducts heat and electricity easily), thus making a gun out of it isn't being very realistic, let alone a flamethrower.
Gold plating is a different story however.
The gold melting would depend purely on whether or not the flame is more hot than gold's melting point.
