Gonstruct Insallation Guide

So this is what happenned
You're running on Windows 10 and the Level Editor isn't compatible anymore.
You still want to level or get started?
Follow this Tutorial and you be ready to begin in No Time!;)


1. Get Gonstruct from the Link below:

2. Installation
On Windows 10, execute the installer and run the program from the start menu.


3. Configuration

Open Gonstruct, and actually configure it properly.

Try following the instructions when you open a new software. The only known error is the launch error that people get, who don't follow the instructions.

4. Usage

Pre-Basics

There is a big level visible on the left and there is a tileset on the right. Click a tile on the right and place it in the big level you can add another one to connect the tiles.

Undo/Redo

 Spoiler

Ctrl+ z
Revert the most recent change to the level's tiles or any Npcs. Currently, changes signs and links are not revertible.

Ctrl+ y
Replays previously reverted change. Note that applying another change to the level after reverting any discards any possibility to replay it.

Copy & Paste

Ctrl+ c
Copies the current selection into a temporary buffer.

Ctrl+ x
Copies the current selection and removes it from the level.

Ctrl+ v
Inserts a new selection from a previously copied selection into the current level.

Selection

 Spoiler

Left Mouse Button
Select the Npc or tile selection below the cursor, otherwise clears the current selection.

Left Mouse Button + Drag Mouse
If nothing is selected, this selects the Npc below the cursor and it, or starts a new tile selection. If tiles are selected, starts dragging the tiles or clears the selection and starts a new one. Release the mouse to stop dragging.

Right Mouse Button
If nothing is selected, flood-fills tiles starting from the mouse cursor with the current default tile. Otherwise writes the current selection to the level and creates a copy of it.

Double Left Mouse Button
Open up the script editor for the Npc below the mouse cursor, or sets the default tile if no Npc is below the mouse cursor.

Delete
Remove the current selection.

Inserting Tiles

To create a new selection from tiles from the tileset, simply drag a selection around the tiles in the tileset, and move the mouse cursor into the level.

Custom Tilesets

By default the standard Graal tileset "pics1.png" is used for all levels (=Classic Tileset).

If you wish to change that:

press the tilesets button in the toolbar (to the left of the preferences button) and add your tileset.

There's really only one thing that might be special:
A "main" tileset.
(A tileset that replaces the default one completely, meaning its functionality equals that of "addtiledef") Everything else is treated as additional tiles to be added on top of the main tileset, like with "addtiledef2".
