No they don't. Unless you want a completely different gani/stats on it. But if you just want to edit/recolor a gun you don't need to do any scripting.

1st. Hat, Any gun that the leader decides to get, special skin for the chosen gun, building.
2nd. Hat, special skin for a gun thats already owned by the players.
3rd. Trophy
