It is the trouble with respect that people show to Admins, they all want them to be perfect and expect so much from them. I believe all of them do a nice job, and for someone new there is so much to learn, so we support you Mihaly!!!

DarkKnight is very rude unless he needs something. And Jeni, I've only talked to you several times, but you seem like a really nice person. I hve no clue why anyone would bash you or any other staff member. We put our hours into this game, trying to make it better, yet we get hate and disrespect.

I go through a lot of harassment in my job irl. Working as front desk in a hotel, I'm fortunate enough to be the one dealing with everyone's complaints and issues, big or small. /sarcasm. I don't understand why people get so upset at the person who is trying to assist them. I see why staff don't host events as often as they used to. People start bashing on the admins when they host an event players weren't asking for... I'm glad to see that Mihaly is doing well at his new role.

He's went as far as making a petition to remove SNK from managing. I think the 24 signatures he has determines that not everyone agrees with his idiotic behaviour.

Thank you so much P0kachu for considering my feelings and taking this time to make this thread. Today has been very much of an epiphany day to which I have found out that I should definitely take time reading the forums. The last few days to which I was able to serve the Era community has not only been a very humbling experience, but it has also really helped me grow in many different ways! I always fullheartedly giggle when I read comments regarding my custom. People seem to be confused on whether or not I am a girl or a boy, but I would like to officially clarify that I am very much a male. I have a feeling that this confusion is why I have been getting so many Valentines from both men and women (if you look on the bright side works out in my favor LOL).

Lol, if you knew me personally, you'll see that i couldn't care at all about what some people say to me. It's like their anger is kind of my energy booster, ask a few people about it. It's a fact.

But anyways, yes, it's true that every new PR face harsh harassments and such, and I happen to be one of those players who used to do that in the past, but I got over it. Anywho, though, everyone as a whole must realize that the whole community isn't perfect, along with the Staff team, and not all of us are nice. But, the new staff must overcome that, which is very easy, and i have no idea why even players make a such big deal when the PR is being harassed. Like, it's apart of their job, and if the do complain about it, and I'm going to saw these few words one last time, they must realize, it's apart of their job.
Just to sum it all up:
Like what Jeni said, please make sure you have a thick skin.
and be ready for any negative thing. Okay?

Oh, and please no kisses on the buttocks, because it won't give you any sort of promotion for defending such player, I'm just being honest here. I mean, these type of threads always comes up during a hiring season. When OreOs was new PR (and just an inb4, he wasn't hired through application, but through recommendation), he was harassed a lot, and no one made a thread about saying, "Stop the harassment, OreOs is just learning." Not even I, his own cousin, made such thread. But this thread comes, and oh, what a coincidence, during the hiring season. But, he didn't care all of that harassment, not at all, because he had a thick skin, because it runs in the blood (lol). So yeah.

I'm just being honest here.

I don't really understand why people have to be so downright rude when it comes to a game. I have (overall) a very high standing respect towards PRs simply because without them, Era wouldn't quite be Era. No freebies, gang spars, events, pk matches, and ec uploads. Not only that, I find some of the PRs to be delightful in conversation. As for thick skin, I am very used to criticism and insults. Being a foreigner to the United States, I have been racially discriminated countless amounts of times. Now, I just developed an immunity to it. I just really don't care about the insults all that much.

Just a heads up for the upcoming staff their will always be those negative people, don't let them put you down because they are most likely just jealous of you or just want to stir up trouble. You're better off ignoring them than arguing back to them because they just want to start a bunch of commotion and try to get you fired.

That is why I like the application process because, depending on how the applicant responds to those targeted questions, those who have the authority to read those applications are able to see gauge how the player will respond to a variety of situations. Being apart of the Player Relations Staff (or any department for that matter) comes with the ideal and concept that it is impossible for you to please everyone. That is why staff have their own set of Rules and Regulations. It is not only a protection for the community but also themselves. I try to consider all feedback that I receive and improve myself no matter what the situation may call for. The most important thing is that you do take yourself too seriously.

There is a very big difference between "taking offense" and "receiving offense." The only problem that I have with the phrase "thick skin" is that some people can interpret that as being apathetic. It is not against the rules or a problem for us to have feelings and for us to consider/respect the feelings of others. It is a matter of HOW those opinions will effect us, hence we all "receive offense" as human beings but that does not necessary mean we need to "take offense."

I'll end on a happy bright note:

If you get recommended you still have to complete an application form so they can review it.

Okay Mihaly, no need to burst your little bubble that you're trying to burst with YOUR "thick skin" concept, but, what jeni basically meant is to not let all of the current and future harrassments that you might be getting dealt you.

Now if they're hacking or DDoSing you, that's a whole different story.

Thats pretty sad, looking to the good thing your contribution is a lot for era without you we would not had this forum, i'm pretty sad how people treat others very harsh even without knowing them. Like OreOs said : Don't be sad they are jealous of you because as much as I can say, you are one of the best admins ever that Era have.

Jeni, don't worry about what people say, the reason why is that they are trying to make you upset. Who cares about what they say, it isn't important. People can be cruel so just ignore them. What they say shouldn't matter to you. Just think about the positives in life. Don't let these horrible people get in your head, as it isn't worth it.

I like him. Pretty cool dude. Helped me out with compatibility questions (is era available on blackberry) quite promptly. He is new so mistakes are understandable. If its all the same to you guys (and girls) I would like to offer him congratulations on a job well done so far.

I skimmed through this thread and saw some of the replies and just like to say the DK is obviously mentally challenged and you can clearly see that from his "Get rid of snk as manager" petition in which he proposes the most stupidest and idiotic selection of who would take over if his petition got attention.

He's not a bad guy people so live him alone! He is just starting and learning how to become a PR. True to be told, I thought that he was a girl when we meet for our first time.Lol! We meet at the Event House when someone was hosting event he pop up out of nowhere which was a little silly ^-^. My chance at getting inside a door is 0% and you guys now way :). So, I don't really go to the Event House when they are hosting event but I mostly just go there to make friends with the Event Team. There were 3 others and he was the only one at the end that answer ed me. I really did not ask them for anything just tell them a Hi! just to be friendly. He answered me by telling me "Thanks for supporting him!" We started talking and then it was time for him to go and we say bye to each other. And then, for the first time, I every see a member of staff at the Start before. We meet again there. In his status it say "I am training". So everyone try to understand this is the guy first time!
