The gun lacks shading, try not using a gradient shade style

How about for the sake of improvement you make something other than a gun?.
Try to go out of your comfort zone, practice shading and post regular updates for advice :).

How about people give actual constructive critisizm?

I say this over and over. I see people who have never done GFX commenting on a GFX forum saying "Wow, much good. Such Doge."
How about instead of, "Wow gj." when it looks like total crap, you say like, "Looks good, but could use some (Shading, etc.)".

Listen man, it takes motivation and dedication to improve. You seek praise and get motivation from that and the inspirational work from other's work. Nobody was born perfect, I'm not perfect either even when I've been doing pixel art for five years. I learn every time I finish a new piece. Accept CC from others, whether it be positive CC or negative it's still good.

I know you've probably heard this a lot throughout your life but practice, practice, and keep practicing. Study basic tips.
