Just to clarify there are deadlines on when work should be submitted. I end up teaching myself most of the work. I have friends who are homeschooled & we do school together usually. It's still the same curriculum just in a different enviroment.
I think it can definetly make a stronger and more intelligent impact on academics but I couldn't have survived highschool without my friends so I really do think the non-social aspect of it can negatively impact a teenager in more ways than one. To be honest though, I'd sacrifice friendship for academics if I could go back in time.
Home school or a private school is great. Public school can make or break you though, depending on the area you're in and the curriculum of the school. My school was very diverse and well... highly gang oriented so yeah... influenced by street thugs and drugs wasn't a great way to kick my high school years but at least I still graduated.
