Fools dont understand that if everyone has a light saber the game will be just simply stupid. When era just came out everyone had a machete, same thing will happen next but with light saber. What is the point of having something nice if everyone around you has the exact same thing?
Look, you bought a Porsche, it took you a few years, you are enjoying it, driving it in the city, everyone watches you and says "man I want this car!" Next day a government gives away a Porsche to every single person in the city. Who are you now? No one.

You also have to think like this: since apparently every good item has to be rare (souizen, bag, mp7, rafficas, etc), and everyone will have ec items, they will all get nerfed to where they aren't as good as they used to be- causing people to rage that their "hard earned" items were nerfed.
Basically they guys who won event are greedy and don't like seeing free ec. Notice the only people geting pissed are them. You guys act like everyone is ganna get a saber by free ec... No.
