#ManualKick so no laggers find a way to get back into the game if they are kick automatic.
Excuse? This shows how much your scared to be kicked, and if it is manual, it means you have been kicked for being laggy: this by a staff.
You questioning johns authority?
Sick of you modem tappers/eaters/laggers, get some skills or accept to get your *** smashed cause it ain't gonna go like that.
John look at all the stuff Banshee is saying. And read this rule please:
"All normal rules will apply, there will be no vulgar behavior by gang leader's tolerated, or else the gang will get disqualified as well.
Hello, my name is JoKer, ROCK JoKeR. But you can call me ROCK.
I'm one of those laggers you see warping everyday, one of those annoying bullet eaters. Now you might rage if you spar me cuz of the lag switch. But you should know something, eaters are perfectly dodging the bullets on their screens
Okay, I know what you're thinking:"he's the least qualified guy to say that."
And you are right!
Please keep this on topic.
I don't see how it's an issue having it in one day if it only takes about 6 hours maximum... It's going to be a very lame gst if you do it in 2 weeks because unfortunately myself and several other players I've talked to won't be able to be on that particular weekend after the weekend gst was originally supposed to be... I really do not see the issue with being online for 6 hours for one day out of the whole year that u need to be on era, but 2-3 weekends is ridiculous and kinda selfish. If for some reason you absolutely HAVE to separate it into multiple weekends, make it 3, not 2. otherwise there's no point in separating it at all... but it would be so much easier if it was in one day.
2 is the best idea because the separation is not that big and you dont have to stay on graal for 6 hours
The gst will be at least 2-3 hours lol. not 6
Yea but for some bad coincidence there's a lot of people who can't be on the weekend after March 15. probably because they rescheduled things they had planned on March 15 to the next weekend because we were under the impression that the gst would be on March 15 like we were told.
Weezy said the maximum duration of the entire event, start to finish, would be six hours.
You're both right; I'd expect it to range from 2-6 hours in totality.
In regard to splitting it over a couple weekends, I've got mixed feelings.
On one hand, as some people have already mentioned: all of the participants may not be able to make it.
Some people are seeing splitting the GST over a couple weeks could turn it into more a matter of dedication than of gauging a gang's aptitude.
It could turn into a question of, "What are you willing to give up to participate?"
Take myself for example: it's Spring Break right now, and I'm busting my hump to get at least two weeks ahead in my three college classes so that my wife won't have a problem letting me play in GST. Also, I've got two daughters that I generally like to spend time with on the weekend. I use the weekends to get caught up in yard work. Setting aside one weekend instead of three weekends is much easier for me to do.
Fortunately, I've generally got weekends off; and that's the only reason I'm able to participate this year.
I couldn't participate the past two years because I worked for a bakery in a grocery store.
Saturday was one of our busiest days, so if I wanted Saturdays off, I'd have to request it, and it would be frowned upon.
Especially for several consecutive Saturdays-- I'm assuming there's several players in a similar boat as I was.
On the other hand, splitting it between several weekends would break it down to a more digestible time block.
It would also create a lot of anticipation and "trash talking", which is healthy with a competition as large as this one is.
I mean, people are making diss rap songs over this; some people are making cartoons.
It's great stuff; all done in great fun, excellent boost in comradery, and a great expression to the love of the game.
We have something called life's though, maybe the finals should be more anticipated though and be put like the next week.
*clap* thank you meph! Was that last paragraph for me?
wtf.
Lmao, we are giving suggestions and john doesn't need to do it if he doesn't want. And btw you don't really know if most of us are participating in gst or not but i'll let you know that i am. And I do care about giving ideas. Not some random topic so to speak.
You say he is in charge of gst, then you should let him decide on the days.
Yes he is in charge bit what he is doing is unfair. Like others have say they maybe arranged their weekend just to be on gay which at that time it was only one day now that John considering doing on 2-3weekends I see it pointless it takes away the thrill and fun. I say we just stick to one day, wanna know what because people on a normal day stay on most of the day so does it matter that it will last 6hrs? Not really, navy, ifreeze, etc base for more hours than that everyday.
Oh and by the way, the people that have been following this post is because they are participating on gst. Just saying graal era, you on on page before said "why you even complaining if you are not even gonna participate" or something close to day, and I just don't want to look for it because it late and I am tired and I just want to see this to get to an agreement weather keep it 1day or 2-3days...
Navy bases more than 6 hours a day? Woo
Remember there will be an extra match at the end for determining 3rd place winners
Just an idea, maybe before the gangs enter into the gst arena and start fighting, John could tell the members participating their "ping" so they would know if they are too laggy to compete or not so players wouldn't be kicked unintentionally.
I think it should be in one day..Most people may have scheduled to be on or not be on. Cause if we do it in weeks, there'll be more chances for people to be off.
Forget about the timing thing, I told you guys I'll see how much the first 8 rounds will take, if they take less than 2 hours, I can manage doing everything on the same day, if not, I'd do the semi-finals and finals on the week after that.
I'm not being unfair with anyone, don't mind doing it in a single day (would actually save me a lot of time).
About the arena, I'm not going to change it for those who don't have skills and planning on camping.
For the prizes, I'll edit the OP later today.
And the laggers, I'd love to kick you up.
End of discussion.
PS: I'm here to remind you that I'm doing my best to give you the GST experience that you guys deserve.
All this complaining, if I were John, I would say forget it, no more gst. John is being very tolerant of all the rudeness...
Took me two hours:

What do you guys think the limit should be? I'm thinking 800-1200ms
Not sure exactly what number, but whatever will prevent constant warping. There is a difference when someone is lagging for a sec because of their wifi or internet compared to constant eating/warping. Mainly lookout for those kind of laggers.
The gui looks really good btw.
I'd say warn us if our 'ms' is above, or close to the limit. Keep an eye on the people that are somewhat close to the limit. If you see continuous and excessive warping, then you can kick the player. If you need help on keeping an eye on high pings, get a different staff member to help. But make sure they are trusted enough to not cheat us off. Someone trusted can be someone like Tink, Bboy, Kane, Coop, Layerd, Reno, Street and Jeni.
And remember, players get random lag spikes every once in a while, especially with all the server problems we've been having. The server mainly acts up during the weekend, because there are 3,000+ players online at that time. Make sure none of this affects us.
These are my ideas :P I'm not judging you <3
John, what time is the gst anyways, we all know the dates, but how bout you give us the time schedule, is it gonna be at 9:00 am?
Last year you didn't say anything about the time. Just give me a time and i'll convert it to US time zone if you're afraid of such.
So we basically have to do that math by looking at the billboard, ok i see.
Keep the MS limit to 650-700 because bullet walls and warping are at 650 and higher. Also there should be a timer that should count down and if the player is still over the limit after the timer runs out it should be an auto kick.
900 seems like a reasonable limit to me. Also another time saver could be adding an npc in each starting box you grab that tells you the rules (weezys idea not mine).
800-900ms sounds perfect.
