I would recommend doing some sort of hardware upgrade, as the lag currently is horrendous, and will only be made worse with the addition of a Gmap as big as era's current one.
What does "Gmap" mean?

The release of Countryside should lessen the lag in the main GMAP. There will of course be expected lag in Countrside on release and probably for a while after.
