Plasma Corp - Events House!

Hello everyone,

So as some of you may have seen today, I ran a quick beta test for a project i've been working on for around a month or two; Plasma Corp's very own events house.

Currently there are five events, winning a solo event will result in a reward of 25 plasma coins. Winning a team event will result in a reward of 10 plasma coins.

Please note, this is not released just yet - it is still in the testing phase.

Here's a quick summary of the events:

SHADOW RACE

Amount to host for: 30-80

INFO - This is a standard one level race, but with the shadow effect applied onto the players and moving obstacles in order to make things a bit more interesting! (25 coins for winning player)

Screenshot:

TURRET DODGE

Amount to host for: 50-100

INFO - Players are spawned into an arena, within which Plasma Turrets are spawned, dodge the Plasma Orbs and be the last player standing to win! (25 coins for winning player)


CYBORG LMS

Amount to host for: 50-100

INFO - Players are spawned into an area, within which waves of cyborg enemies from Plasma Corp Survival are spawned, the last player standing wins! (25 coins for winning player)

NUCLEAR CHANCE

Amount to host for: 50-150

INFO - A standard chance event, with an arena that resembles a nuclear warning sign. (25 coins for winning player)


PHOTON TDM

Amount to host for: 75-150

INFO - A team event, two teams of players fight it out with Photon Rifles, the last team standing wins 10 coins per surviving player!


All events are complete script-wise, however I am still in the process of improving them. If you have any suggestions for additional events / comments, leave them below.

Current fix list:
- Make bullet colours differ per team within Photon TDM
- Reduce lag within the events house by lowering the amount of lighting / hard to render objects
- Graphical bug fixes for PC users

Yes, normal staff will be able to host it once i teach them how to do so (probably more experienced staff).
I'm trying different things to increase the frequency of normal events also so i'll see how that goes.

You can do whatever you want with Plasma Corp, Junz, but these are basically re-textures of existing events in Era. These new events don't add anything new or unique to the table. But don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with a re-texture once in a while, but if you want people to note Plasma for something special, give it some special.

I agree but I think the purpose of this was too give another way of obtaining the new brand of items (the plasma items rather then just grinding plasma coins in survivak modes for hours)

That's objectively not the case.
Every event (aside from the chance event) has at least one unique element to it which is not present within other events.
Additionally, these are just the first few events, if you read the bottom of my post it asks for additional event ideas.
Instead of giving a reponse that's completely unhelpful, and jumping ahead + assessing it without even having played it, give suggestions for possible events.

Start off by making every other player except yourself, transparent/or barely visible. Having multiple players in one big area creates lag in the server and makes the overall experience worse. Even I was experiencing some dip in frames as soon as I got warped to the Event Lobby and not even in an event. This is a must have for Plasma Corp and if not for Events in general. How has nobody done the same for Events House yet? RIP.

Rip events house

How many Plasma Coins or EC will be given to the admins who are hosting? Will it stay as 6, just like the original events house, or will there be an increased number of events hosted per admin?

I swear, if this made to rip-off the x2,x3 plasma coin hours

So theres more than one method of getting Plasma Coins and to add something new

Pretty good, only problem: the prizes.. If you plan to host these events like regular events or maybe even less than regular events I think you should make the coin prize higher.

The amount of Plasma coins per win seems about right. Chem costs 200 EC and if you win solo events you get 1 whole EC per win. The highest item in Plasma is 7500 Plasma Coins and 7500 divided by 25 (25 being the amount of coins per solo plasma event win) is 300. The Anti Matter burner may or may not be as good as Chem, I have no clue if it is or isnt but for what it is and what it can do and I believe you can use it in more places than the Chem. Those 300 wins seem about right. If that makes any sense.

EDIT: And also you don't have to wait around for Plasma Events to earn Plasma coins as you could just do survival in the mean time so yeah.

The reason why it isn't higher is due to Survival mode existing, which in itself is a way of earning plasma coins at any point + people have already purchased 5k/7.5k plasma coin items solely by playing survival.
So it's a supplementary method of earning coins, not the sole method.

Hello everyone, I am a player who has more than 50k kills in plasma and more than 6k coins, I want to make this clear so that I am not considered an "ordinary" player who does not know enough about plasma. Having said that, I do not like the "new" house event mode, but I will try to give this a chance ... BUT ... I think that if we believe that this will REVIVE plasma then we are very wrong, many of the players that I have seen in plasma are players who do not even have a decent weapon to play, many do not even have a weapon,I think the right way to revive plasma is to make a new game mode (an additional room with another mode) that gives the normal player or noob as many would say an opportunity to achieve their goal of getting a plasma item, giving them a weapon standard as in mpx spar where the player is given a FREE weapon so he can advance, and include in this new game mode the modality that is given in crypt where players have the possibility of finding ALL the random weapons of graal in chests, that would make the player feel excited with each game because of the surprise factor of which weapon will get in the next round, obviously would be weapons with a limited ammunition (a minigun with 500 bullets only), and not only would you be helping to revive the plasma but the novice player using that weapon has a high chance of liking that weapon and collecting money or using itunes to buy it, increasing profits in the graal to improve the servers (although that's another subject).

and I want to make it clear that many of the DEDICATED players in plasma agree to add this modality of giving free weapons in chests during the rounds,and as I said before, this will help new players who do not have any weapons to defend themselves decently.

I tell you this because I consider you a good admin who does his job well and cares about the community (something that few admin do nowadays),I ask you to take into consideration what I am offering you since you could achieve something great if you carry it out.

No, you misunderstand how people react to new features. If it's new, they'll usually rush to see it, despite what it is. Meaning that this update will revive Plasma Corp and this will make it relevant once more.

However, putting a new coat of paint on a product may make it popular in the moment, but the hype will die now once people realize it's the same product they've bought once before.

And keep in mind that the sole purpose of this update is to bring more players into Plasma Corp, and it has succeeded at its job.

I think I've spoken to you before in game; your main concern was people would earn coins via events and overtake those or quickly catch up to those who earn coins via survival. Which won't be the case. The two go hand in hand, and people who play survival will always have a greater number of coins.

I was thinking of adding chests when we were first working on survival, however we decided not to as we wanted to avoid replicating Crypt features.

But, I'm all for adding features that help new players; so alternatively I'll consider adding chests that contain weapons from the plasma corp shop / weapons suited to survival, rather than the standard crypt weapons.

I was there when junz tested the events out on players earlier today and i thought i’d give my input!

I think the turret dodge and cyborg lms are both very luck based when they shouldn’t be. npc’s spawn in random locations and the turrets spread is unpredictable. I think that killing npc’s or turrets should heal players. This would promote people to actually kill them instead of hiding behind other people to outlive them. This would also make the event a bit more skill based!

I think the other events are completely fine :). Yes nuclear chance isn’t skill based, but its chance. Its supposed to be luck.

Never going to happen? It's 100% done, all i need to add is a Plasma Coin drop system for staff. Not sure what you mean. I have yet to announce anything that hasn't been released.

I'll work on some improvements on both event in time in order to alleviate those issues to some degree, however the spread is meant to be unpredictable (as the objective isn't to predict the bullets, but to dodge them), additionally the spawn points for NPCs are the same for each spawn (not random). Hiding behind people only works from early - mid game, near the end of the round it becomes a lot more skill-based (i've noticed the same trend in events such as Classic Killers). The turrets aren't meant to be killed (they have 9999 hp) hence I won't be adding a reward for killing them (as it isn't really possible), but I'll definitely make some mechanical and map-based improvements.
