Something better than GST

Okay, we all know that this year's GST was a dramatic disaster. Gangs were cheated off, favoritism was involved, etc… So why don't you think of something better that involves gangs competing, but with "sparring" actually involved? I was thinking of having John do some type of TTS like tournament but with gangs as teams. Having a normal spar queue, that's large (like the big room at complex) would seem much more fair. We would have to rely on each gang member's skill instead of the whole gang spamming bullets at us. This would be much more simpler than having to deal with a huge useless arena with 4,000 obstacles on it. John, if you decide to do this, let me know. I can help you out, so this won't be disastrous like the GST.

This would be cool, it could be like the TTS event except like you said a bigger spar and it could be up to 15 members from each team. It would work as a normal TTS except it is 2 gangs competiting, not just random people trying to get ec.

Yeah it's 1v1 at a time unless they tag out. But I think there should be less players in a team, but more teams. Something like 32 teams, but 6 people in each team
(leader plus 5 other teammates). And instead of all this qualifications drama. We can just have the top 32 gangs that get more spar wins while being on the gang tag they wish to participate in.

This would actually be considered as a 'Gang SPAR Tournament' to be honest, as the current GSTs are more like PK-Battles anyways, therefore I like the idea lol.

It would be good if this was implemented, alongside the annual GSTs that we have each year anyways. So it would actually be 2 big tournaments in a year, therefore an ACTUAL Gang 'SPAR' Tournament, and the current 'GST' can be renamed to... Gang PK Tournament or something lol.

This was something in mind that probably should be changed. GST felt more like a GPKT. There was a lot of flawless wins in this years GST and it could change if there was a change of system if the battles were actually sparring based. The battles would be more interesting to watch as well.

I talked to snk about this a few weeks back, he said to finish the GST then we'll check again.

BTW, how was it a disaster? It felt pretty good from my POV.

Youd don't know how to host for your life, you said the map was gonna prevent from camping all it did was switch it into spam mode there was no skill involved all you had to do was spam and they would die you tell me if thats skill. If it was skill it would have been down to 3 people on eachs sides which it wasnt its proven that way because of almost all the matches were flaws. You lost the bottom for 1 second you lose! No skill in that, last year they had columns so smaller ammounts of player could face off 2v2 and 1v1 but not it was just 6v6 spam to win. You dont know how to do the gst so next year I dont expect you to host it. Thanks this is my opinion.

No there should be no sort. After 1 team is out the opposing team wins, even if theres 1 person left the whole team still put a lot of work in it so they all get the prize

I think he was saying like theres 11 players to compete in a 1v1 tourney. It randomly put 1 person from each team into a spar in whoever wins gets a point for their team. As the event progresses i would say you need 20 points to win. Idk i think thats what he ment

First off, thank you, this suggestion is so much better than just complaining about this year's tournament.

@John, I think tagging should be allowed in this kind of thing. If gang members know that they're going to get the prize regardless if they win, they'll use the tag function as a way to have teamwork. It'd also be great if they could secretly select who they want to go in to the arena next, such as if one person's technique is more effective against another's. This way, it'd have teamwork involved, rather than just one on one spars and the gang with the best sparrers winning easily. Of course, the best sparrers would still win, but teamwork would be involved.

I dont think hes saying make the tourney like in a month. He means in general like take your time. Make it as best as you can. I dont want you to rush like you did for gst.

I don't think you can blame everything on John, from what I saw he did a good job.

John, this GST was the worse ever hosted. I have proof that Magus members started losing HP out of nowhere. This was a very ridiculous way of losing our 2 year streak. I know it wasn't your fault. (bugs, etc) But I'm not going to ask for a rematch because I know we won't get one.

Anyways, call it something like "Gang Tag Spar Tournament", have better rules than the actual TTS event. This is my idea, because it actually involves sparring. And gang wars? The GSTs are were basically gang wars, lol. But anyways, if you decide to do something like this, let me know. I can give you the ideas I've been thinking of to make this tournament not end up like the GST did.

No, it will be much faster and easier lol. I'm serious, I will help you if possible.
-The scripting: you can take some of the TTS event scripts, but change them up a bit.
-The queue (arena): you can take the "big spar" that's on the room on the far left of spar complex. (just make a better flooring to it)
-6 players on each team? (leader + 5 members) You get to choose the amount of gangs. Depends on how you long you want it to be (16 or 32). My opinion is 16.
Please try to make this tournament happen, I'll help you out as I said. And this time, skill will actually be involved. And it won't be that long. We can plan it out in a day, advertise it in a week, and then host it the following week.

The problem with tournaments is that it will make a lot of players go online.

Problem with a lot of players online -> Server lag/crash.

Server lag/crash -> Ruins the tournament.

Ruining the tournament -> My fault.

This is something you can do instead of gang wars. Seriously, GSTs are basically gang wars...

I would increase the number of participants to 10. 6 is too low in my opinion. By the way, it's Subtrakt/Viper.

I would use alternative with gang wars, since gang wars is almost done.

Agree with gang wars....How about GWT, Gang Wars Tournament which there is a big level like a city (like the one in ctf) where 2 gangs are in the level, and pk everywhere in that level. But I prefer adding also a script which it could add the names of the players who's in the level so players can see if an admin is cheating them (like the one ep said).

Gang Wars is way more fun.

Not perma-death. You can pick classes. A sniper and a suicide bomb included. Ranks exists based on your kills. A nuke in case they're camping. Vehicules. And more coming along!

Classes is something I'd like to see in era. If a player wanted a BAR as part of their class, they'd have to sacrifice something for it. While as players who used weak weapons, would have more powerful support items, faster movement speed, etc.
