Id like a command to view all the staff online at once such as showadmins, its a hassle going through showguild player relations etc.
or a little sign somewhere near the start saying what staff or online would be helpful.

Or something under "More Actions" on the friend list. Typing can be a hassle, and if you're trying to report somebody it makes it obvious when you want to see what staff is on to report to. It's too difficult to find online staff members when you need them unless you add them, and some people such as myself do not like a friend list cluttered with people we only pm when we need help, not actual friends.
i like the idea of it being under friends list more actions.
Wellllll the only thing I would say is you should use the report feature versus pming an admin unless it is really urgent. Part of the reason I can barely breathe due to back to back pms from the second I log on is because people seem to like to pm me reports directly and as you can imagine that does a couple of things: creates an unfair balance of the workload, we loose ability to track the reports and details, and it takes much longer usually for things to be resolved as I am one person getting spammed with pms for all sorts of things versus allowing any available staff to assist. When PR's are logged in they are responsible for working the reports. If you need staff for any other reason the command may be helpful but I guess I am not sure what that would be for besides to ask for events or auctions which shouldn't be requested (we already know you want them and will if we can but we are not required to). So, based on my response, why would you need to know which staff are online for? I suppose if you need general help about the game would be the only other reason and I am guessing most players have some staff added for that reason. Selfishly, I worry about even more spam. Being completely honest, this is why I don't like announcing anything as it sends an indirect message saying I am online, SPAM ME hello, for dolls, statues, etc. lol:)
using showguild player relations just makes my guy say no members :C
ahhh so you're telling me that if they have there tag on they need to be bugged? jkjk
Ill admit it xD but now that i know ill make sure to leave them be...until that tags off then its bugging time ;) jk
The showadmin command would be very useful.
I'm completely clueless as to what the answer might be to this question, because I have no clue what necessary PM's the PR's get. But, here it is: Can the admins turn off offline PMs to fix that problem? Or is offline PMing even part of the problem?
I would say that offline PMs, in my opinion, are not the issue. Personally, I have them turned off as it would take me almost all of my online time to catch-up and follow-up on them. The issue for me is just pure volume but I also understand that comes with the territory, you just won't see me advocating for more ways to become even more accessible than I already am. I seriously do not go 1 minute without a pm if I have my tag on. With it off, I may occasionally get to 3 minutes without one. My usual pm volume received probably averages 5 a minute, yes a minute, back to back. These range from hi and people looking for casual convo (which even my closest friends will tell you is impossible when I am on my staff account) to requests for dolls/statues, events, auctions, hiring, reports on other players, etc. Honestly, players pming me for general help or questions is probably 5% of my pm volume.
I also attempt to respond to all pms; however, depending on volume I have gotten to the point where I may not reply to just a hello. For goodness sakes, do not ask to ask a question or pm just to say you have a question...JUST ASK. Before I was staff I never understood why some admins put in their status ask your question in ONE PM lol, now it is clear as day why they do or it just multiplies unnecessary pms :) Insider tip, this activity annoys staff :D
I also feel very strongly that any member of the PR team should NEVER do pms from friends only or turn off pms while on tag so you will never see me do that as it defeats our purpose, in my opinion.
Anyway...y'all have heard my opinion and reasons why I am not a fan of the idea; however, looking at it from a player perspective, I can totally see why you would want it. Let's see what other staff and players say on the matter:)
Pretty easy to read...LONG POST BY JENI=something she has a strong opinion about lol. But in truth, pm volume just happens to be a pain point for me and something I am struggling with atm :)
I get mad to get more than 10 pointless PMs in a 5 minute period. I think you're doing pretty well -w-
We are sometimes told to message an online player relations member...
Fair enough, How come showguild Player Relations won't work?
jenis got swag :D she can handle the spam!
More admins equals work load divided= less spam. With 5 pr's on at a time usually for a constant 2000 people sometimes more. It's hard for you guys. Why not hire more to take the work load off of yourselves. I see this as the easiest solution for the spam and load of pm's.
Because sometimes we need to find an online staff member in secret, as someone we are reporting can easily see that we are reporting them for racism, boosting, harassment, whatever if they see us say showguildPlayee Relations. The showadmins thing doesn't really work well IMO, because it's basically just a shortcut to showguildPlayer Relarions.
n what if a staff is off tag, showguild Player Relations wont work.
lol this is battle of wits, and in this i cannot win :(
Aww no Myst, I don't mean to do that at all. If you and others agree it is useful, then by all means it is up for consideration. I am just responding purely from my POV. Just because I have an opinion on the topic does not at all mean I am trying to shut down your suggestion, just explain it from a staff perspective (mine - other staff may see it differently), and understand how it will help us all to improve the game :)
