Event Bot: Update In-Progress

First off, I'd like to say that nothing has been changed yet. I am focusing solely on the event bot for the time being, so any mention of current events not hosted by the event bot will be ignored. In the future, I plan on improving upon the event bot system itself; however, currently I am focusing on improving existing event bot events followed by NEW events for the event bot to host. So, I'd like to ask for the input of you players: what can be done to improve current events (or past events and now removed due to glitches or some other errors)?

What I AM specifically looking for is:

• /Make sure to list event names & specific examples, not 'it is broken'/
• Any glitches that may be abused by players
• Small ideas for improvements upon the event (not trying to make it into an entirely new event)
  (Examples) Add focusing onto <blah> event or new level layouts or background music.
• Or any other information you think may be helpful.

What I am NOT looking for:

• <Blah> person(s) always win this event. Make it so they don't always win.
• Make it cost less money. Make it give EC more often. Give rewards for lasting xx amount of time.
• Or anything of that nature.

Again, I am only focusing on event bot events. I am currently trying to fix and/or improve upon the existing events before adding new ones. I don't mind if you suggest new ideas for events, but it won't be happening until the rest the existing events are finished. So, I ask that you also include information as described above. I am asking you players because you know best--you play them on a daily basis.

Please lists your inputs in an organized fashion; it is painful to read and difficult to understand if your ideas are just written as you go. I may not be able to make use of your input otherwise.

If your ideas are very helpful, and you continue to provide information, I may also allow you to test them out with me and potentially be rewarded for your input and your time. This is not guaranteed, however it is likely, given that it is significant enough, a reward of some nature will be awarded.

In the explosive chance bot, players will sometimes not be warped down onto the actual playing level.

Sumo is a cool event and all, but some players stand in corners near the water, which prevents them from being knocked back. They abuse this a lot.

Yes, that's true.
That thread has been there for a very long time and I hope it gets looked at right now or so.

Fix explosive chance from bot, sometime when people joined, some participants can't be warped into the number box.

Most of the main concerns about the event bugs have been stated by tyler already,
In case just saying that they won't receive knockback is too vague,

The circled areas are the places where players abuse the glitch,All they have to do is face themselves away from the water and stand at the edge extremely close to the water,that way they won't receive any knockback and the only way to kill them is to slowly deplete their health by solely punching them from 50 to 0 hp with a - 1hp punch.

Ontop of that, some people even get warped in the top left hand corner of the screen.

In sumo also, i have seen people go into the water and back out without loosing a liife. I find that quite annoying.

I just want to say aswell that i am glad you are doing this, as i made a thread about how motr bot events should be added and now it is hallening. Thanks and good luck in doing so

To add on,There's also a hard race bug where you can walk across the water(basically taking a shortcut).Although it's hard to master,but this shortcut guarantees a free win.

For Park race,I've seen players being able to place bear traps during the events and other players who step on it will be slowed down due to being trapped.It'll be great if it gets disabled

Alright, so far I've made some changes on the events you have mentioned.

For Sumo, I fixed the knockback. Will add more updates a little later.
For Ex Chance, I believe I've fixed the issue, however I have not been able to test it out thoroughly. Keep me updated if you see anything.
For Hard Race, I moved the tiles further apart to prevent "walking across".
For Park Race, I prevented the use of weapons -- in order to prevent players from dropping traps (although there is one in the event itself near the end).

You can also link me other threads that have ideas/fixes that need implemented. I do not have the patience to read every single one unfortunately.

At least Sumo is fun to play again.
Although having to see people running around continuously to waste time is not really an enjoying thing to watch.

Dan could You Please add More last man levels
I would like to see some More skill based maps
Example :the walls dissepear in one minute, or gas get dropped in the corners

ah,I have another one,I believe Car Dodge Race needs some fixing,At the near end of the event,there seems to be unit collision,not sure if it's intentional but it gets on most player's nerves.
Players can stand still and block an open pathway just by standing there,forcing other players to step on a trap before they can advance or blocking you at the last wave of cars so you'll get hit and warped back to the checkpoint.
It shows that as long as you have a small lead at the near end of the race,there's no chance other players overtaking you due to this "body block" thing.

Since you're asking for minor ideas for improvements,I'd like to suggest Car dodge race to either have a change in layout or have multiple maps.(reason being most players have mastered the best route for the race and it's been securing them plenty of ECs/Cash prizes)

Alright, anyone know why certain events were removed from events bot, such as Lucky Tower or Musical Chairs (hard to 'fix' if I don't know the problem)?

Also, I'll be taking a bit longer fixing up the events the next few days, as I am busy with my job and my caring for my daughter.

Most old events are removed due to players abusing glitches and some errors noticed etc.
For eg.
Pumpkin drop was probably removed since everyone was camping at a spot for such a long time,That the event always ends with a (no-one won the event!)

Musical Chairs,Players were sharing chairs(the player that covers up most of the chair remains while the other one gets kicked),And it seems like when players are lagging when playing the events,They don't get warped out even if they lose.

Gas Chamber,Healing is still enabled.

Lucky tower,Rumor has it that that there were a few bugs faced by players when they get warped into space and they don't get warped to the intended location(that void when you enter one of the four holes).

Laser Tag(my fav),Healing(eating food) was harder in the past before hotkeys were around,reminding players not to heal as and where they like,making the game much more challenging.If it returns,i'm sure everyone will just survive through spamming their hotkeys.
"Recruit to a Gang" bug,Where a friend sends you a gang invite,once you enter the event,You accept the request and you'd be tagged onto your friend's gang,Enabling friendly fire and griefing,since your tag is no longer the same as your team.
Most importantly it was an unfair event due to the reason of it giving out ECs to everyone that is alive and is on the winning team.

red light green light -"Lag" is causing players to abuse the event.

Grab rush - some blocks don't give you points, blocks dont appear on your screen,sometimes a block can get you 2 points,winner has the bug of being stuck in the event after winning.(there's more but i forgot)

Since when Era has Horse Race?

With Gas Chamber, the level supposedly prevents healing, so was that all there was wrong with it?

I guess there are times in gas chamber,similar to Pumpkin drop,Players tend to hide in corners or some sort,Forcing a tie most of the time.
There were players abusing glitches like pausing in the Event,Resulting in not receiving any damage.
Maybe make it that way where players can't hide in corners?(Like how classic killers automatically kicks corner campers)

Wow, I'm glad to see everyone is aware of the glitches that are abused in the majority of the bot events. I have a couple minor ones that people skipped over.

In crab wrestling, there is a count down to start the event. However, some people are able to take damage before the countdown ends and the event officially begins.

In Sumo, players that lag won't be removed from the arena. To get rid of the lagging player (keep in mind this player is not active i the game. They haven't moved) another player in the game has to continually hit the player, for quite a while. I don't recall exactly how long it takes to get rid of the player, but I do know it takes over 5 minutes.

Ahh, now Laser Tag , my favorite event. The main reason it was excluded from the bot was because of the glitches. I believe there were 3 maps, and all had minor bugs. The biggest problem in most was that lagging players were hard to kill, since you weren't allowed to use melees. But on one of the 3 maps, the one where you had to climb ladders and warp around the arena, had The biggest problem. This problem arose typically when there was one person left on the other team. What they would do is just follow a a certain path around the arena, and they would never die, and they would survive until no one won the event. This seemed to happen alot, and as I look back on it now it seems odd people wouldn't just camp at the ladders where the player would eventually come and then ambush him/her...

Now I rememeber. The last player alive would be able to stay alive because even though they would be taking damage when going from one warping station to another, they would be able to heal while warping, and they couldn't be shot when warping either.

people cant heal themselves but healing throwables are enabled (heal pumpkins valintine hearts). you and a friend would pretty much just chuck them at eachother to keep both of u alive.

it would also be interesting if you found a way to make it remove gas mask

I miss laser tag :((.
Anyway, I only play crab so the things I sometimes encounter are:
1. (As Colin already mentioned.) Being able to take damage before the countdown even starts.
2. Some people cannot attack and they "revert" back to their human form, not their crab form.
-- When they take damage, the animation for human shows, instead of the crab.
3. I sometimes get kicked out of the event, I know that other players experience this, based on where the location in which we were teleported.
4. People sometimes land themselves on the tan area of the arena, or get stuck in the black background and can't move.

3 and 4 are less common but I still see it every now and then.

The event house - lucky chance - had items in it b4 and when u grab it u get the item. I wish this bug was still in it coz im bad at the game ;-;

What items are they? It could be the debug item which wasn't grabbed by anyone yet.

Well this bug is fixed already coz remember in 2012 item were dropable? Well the mechanic was in lucky grab and coz items are no longer dropable no iys to get ;-; I want that back so I can randomly get a ec

Yay finally fix it

On Hide and Seek when it is a cash event it wont give out cash when you win just the hat.
You just obtain the hat the EC one is fine but i have experienced this on all Hide and Seek cash event i have played please fix .

I haven't bothered collecting all the new hats yet but I'd say it's safe to assume it works just like the other money bot events and the amount of money is based off how many people joined (pretty sure that's how it works).
