How to make staff do their job

I am honestly sick and tired of all the "Player Relation" admins. Why are they "Player Relation" if they ignore 90% of the population except their friends? I'm not naming anyone, but here's an idea on how to get them to at least do something.


How about they have to report to their senior admin on what they did that month? So an example would be "Jailed 3 hackers, helped 10 people with their questions, and hosted 6 events". Now that's just an example but the idea is that all these " Player Relation" admins who are hanging around are now forced to actually do the job they were hired for. Maybe if they don't explain what they did then they will receive a warning, and could face being fired.

And don't tell me it's too hard for them because they were hired and they should know that with a job comes responsibility.

Thoughts on this?

PRs are there to entertain the players and deal with reports. Though most only do events. Never checking reports.

Everyone besides PRs do their job to help the community.

No need for a jailing record since RC records ALL power usage done by staffs.

I don't wanna spoil but admins can see what another admin did cuz its in the RC chat.Like jailing a player.

Why do they need to tell the SPRs what they did when SPRs can find out themselves.

Okay okay, a Player Relations job is to help the player, I get that. They're job is also to respond to reports so I am sure they are sorry that they can't respond to you're PM as fast as you'd like, and while they are "waiting around" they are waiting for more reports to do. Ah and they don't need to report to a Senior Player Relations because everything is recorded on RC staff tools, jails, etc.. and it's the Player Relations Admins job to review them and the Senior Player Relations help as well. They actually do more than what I just listed. Just saying you should be a bit more grateful for what they actually do for you so you can enjoy iEra.

I rarely ask them any questions, mostly because I know they won't respond. And I can't blame them for that since morons are always spamming them with junk mail.

But have you seen an admin help a noob before? Its like a boyscout letting a grandma cross the street by herself [emoji53]
I mean c'mon if they are so busy behind the scenes, why have "relation" in their name?

Well that's the thing, a Player Relations team member will only respond if the "noob" asks for help. Otherwise they will assume the player is doing just fine and gradually learning.

I don't want to sound like a know-it-all or anything, but I highly doubt a PR would respond to a rookies plea for assistance. I know mine weren't answered.

Why do you think people go all crazy when they see an admin? Because they are more like celebrities showing off all their flashy powers than they are your friendly neighborhood spiderman doing what their tag says.

What kind of pleas for assistance?
99% of messages i receive are asking for free EC, freebies, dolls, or letting me know they got their account "hacked" (when they really didn't, they let someone on their account and regret it after someone takes their items)

This topic has been opened several times and same reply is expected. Staff members most of the times get spammed and literally junk mail, they wont be able to search through 1K pms just to find your pm because they wouldnt know, so they simply remove all spam by "/clearpms". None of them just sit around doing nothing because each staff has a job to do, and they do check reports but they dont give an act based on a simple report because players abuse it for their own usage (most of the time its a lie) thats why they cant take an action based on a report. If you have an issue example: Hacker. Take proof of it (video preffered as picture can be edited) and tell a staff member the name of the person and he will ask for the proof. if the proof was convincing then an action will be taken. so dont misjudge staff members.

If you think a specific staff member ignores you please do report them, we take all reports seriously.

We're constantly trying to improve our team, we do appreciate your feedback.

I salute you admins who take the time to respond and make era better, but I'm letting you know that there are a lot of lame ducks sitting in the PR chair that could go.

Maybe some just have to realise that staff does not reply to:
- "Hey Anero, free EC please!"
- "Hey man, host events now!"
- "Hello Anero!"

Directly state your question.
If you want us to grab a statue, enter your house, place the statue, then PM us. It's way faster.
If you want us to give you a doll, just PM us - then again, there are some staff members who want to keep their dolls rare, so you might not always get the doll.

Also, be aware that you don't get hacked.
If someone else is able to get on your account, you most likely gave your own account information, such as email and password, away. It's your responsibility to ensure that your account stays your account.

I also get a lot of "Freebies please!"-messages.
I usually do them, but not if I get a PM every 15 minutes, freebies are supposed to stay at least a little rare.

Once again, I read all PMs if I'm not away for a short period of time.
If you do not get a reply, think about what you messaged me, think about what I posted.

An example of a fine admin. I've never felt you were bad, and I'm not the person that PM's junk mail. I was just stating that some of the PRs could use a nudge towards being helpful.

Also, what are you talking about being hacked?

PR's talk to me sometimes. I was just talking with Chief the other day...

Basically, if they are tagged on to PR, they are busy. if they arent, then thats the time to ask questions and talk with them. If they arent tagged and still dont talk,, then they think you are stupid lol...

This is incorrect.
Whenever a PR sets his tag, it means that he is working.

Working includes answering player's questions.

In case, you didn't get it. Many players take advantage of this issue, thinking they could benefit from it.
The staff can't do much when hacking takes place if the individual grants others access to his/her account.
Exception to this is if the permission wasn't given by the person being hacked.

Well to be honest Graal Era could do with a few more PRs. PRs need to start bringing themselves into the community. I'm not naming names but this whole 'I'm a PR, I'm better than you' ego has to stop. PRs should try talking to people in the streets, engaging with the community. Finding out feedback by themselves! Just hire some trustworthy PRs. I'd be a great PR (just kidding).

If I set my ET tag doesn't always mean events are happening.
Staff can set a tag with the name 'working' so players know whether they're likely to get an answer or not.
I can assure you when ever I was online I would TRY and answer most PM's I receive, although time is taken up doing reports.
Note to everyone, attending a report isn't a 3 second job, some reports require you to monitor players for awhile, trace through PM's and even get assistance from other staff.

Do they have pR's for each timezone?
If not, they should have up to 2-3 pR's per timezone.

I really don't see how you have any say in this.

I do have a say in this because Im a gamer who wants there to be fairness within the game, my question is (and again I do apologize) why was gamergirl given her stuff back. This has happened to many people and nothing is ever done. Where is the justice in this?

Instead of complaining about the "justice" and "fairness" in the game. Why don't you reflect on how this all began? Make sure you compare GG's situation at the the time with your own.

This began because a naive girl gave out her info to a couple of guys who duped her, when i was in this same situation they said nothing could be done. I dont care that this girl spent X amount of $$$ on this game she was ignorant she pays the price, tough luck. How they handled this situation shows however that only a small amount of people can have the rules bent for them no matter what.

In this case snk was involved I believe. During regular hacking cases we take no action because by definition no-one really gets hacked on Era unless it's through keylogging or phishing.
Giving people your account information does not equal being hacked.

I'm sorry that we couldn't help you when you had your problem, but what are we supposed to do when someone exercises their free will to consciously give someone else access to their account? We can't turn back the time, the most we can do is try to inform the community about decision making.

Again, the gamergirl situation was handled by people higher than the regular PR team and does not reflect the day-to-day decisions we make.

Just to go back on topic:

Prs being monitored weekly by Sprs would actually make a difference in the performance of the staff team.
This way Prs can recieve feedback about what they should consider doing, like if they havent done much of something.
Prs that repeatedly warn/jail certain players could be further investigated and other suspicious activity could be looked at.
Sprs could be like an advisor, be like in charge/responcible for certain members of the staff team.
