Looks really good! might want to increase the difference between base color and highlights, though. It's not very visible.
The stock is a bit too round at the bottom, too.
Finally, the front/back sprites are too small compared to the side views, might want to change that.

Really nice gun for a first remake. Yeah, I would agree with Kendrick though - make your shading more obvious.

I like it, but it just seems like a plastic toy due to the coloring. That's what I think at least
