A Solution to Basing That Would Actually Work

I think I have a seriously good idea that would fix basing permanently. Just hear me out. The gang rewards system now that is based on hours needs to be removed, it needs to be changed to something else. Change it to pk rewards instead...let me explain. Every kill a player gets while on-tag goes towards that gangs "total pks," however, the pks only count toward that if the gang is holding the base at the time of the kill. You could use the exact same rewards (hats, melee, etc.) with the same relative level of difficulty to get them as the old system had, except instead of hours it would be based off kills. This new way would solve literally every problem with the current system, just think about it. Plus it's so simple! Sometimes to create something new, the old thing needs to be torn down completely...basing shouldn't be revolved around hours anyway, it should be revolved around kills...the whole point of this game is killing people.

Hmm I feel like having basing go by PK may make the rewards a lot easy to obtain? It won’t make sense in my opinion, as basing is, you know, holding the base.

PK is just spamming, it doesn’t rlly require a lot of skill imo. Even when basing can get easier with bigger gangs it still requires a big amount of skill, time management and teamwork.

The rewards would still be about the same level of difficulty to achieve..im not sure what pk score it would be, but it would be extremely high. Also, only the gang that "owns" the base has their kills registered to their gangs total pks. So you would still have motive to own the base.

All the bigger gangs will definitely get these rewards much faster so it will be hard for new gangs

It would actually be a lot more balanced than you think, because "big" gangs would have to search for bases with other gangs in it, so that they can take over and get kills. If the other gangs leave and go somewhere else, the "big" gang will have to move again or else get really slow kills. With all the commotion in all the bases all over the map, it would be a relatively fair environment to base in.

Wow that's a nice idea actually, this would most likely ruin alliances and will make it easier for other gangs.

I like this idea for individual basing rewards so everyone gets something, but I also like the idea of the 7 unique gang hats. I had an idea where instead of the leader picking who gets the hat, the system logs each helpers amount of hours put into basing with a specific gang, the members who helped the most would get a gang hat spot instead of the leader choosing who gets one, it would prevent bias.

Afkers generally get kicked from the gang before they have a chance to rack up hours. Also, I like this idea, but if the gang system was to be changed from hours to pks..then maybe change it so the top people with the most gang kills (like i explained in the beginning of the thread)get rewards. I'm still not sure if I like this idea, because some people have great leadership ability, and deserve the rewards even if they don't necessarily put as much time into the gang.

If base scores revolve around kills, then it becomes more easily boostable. You just convince some friends to join some random gang and run in the base with the pretense of trying to take the base, only to get killed by you and your other buddies holding the base. Also, if no ones attacking the base you?re at, aren?t you just sitting around for nothing?

exactly. its a novel idea, but in practice there are too many loopholes that can be used.

I'm not sure why your friends would do that for you, and the fact that there would be multiple gangs in the base at the same time means your boosters aren't guaranteed to be killed by the gang holding. The way this would be set up, would cause wars across the map in order for gangs to get their kills..im very doubtful that there would be a chance for a gang to be by themselves in a base and have their friends come so they can boost. Also, I don't think you would ever be sitting around doing nothing for the reasons I just gave. Remember gangs need to own the base in order for their kills to count toward the gang total kills.

I'm kinda basing this on how bases are as of right now. Small gangs are still intimidated by the massive like 20 people in the already established gangs, so there aren't any real challengers. Usually when I run into a base right now, it's pretty empty except for the gang holding the base (aside from the occasional wars between two larger gangs). This is actually what Sam is trying to fix with the basing rework, I believe.

In retrospective, I like the emphasis of this idea, but something makes me feel like there's loopholes.

As Failure mentioned, one gang can boost off of another at that point.
Changing the basic ideology on basing isn't the only issue though, layouts feel bland at times. There needs to be more pizzazz to basing.

I left for a good six months and the only thing that was different was Plasma Corp (which I really love honestly xoxo Junz).

I'd really like to see this as a supplementary plan (in case the basing rework flops).

Yes basing right now is dead, but that is because of the current rewards system that is based off hours. All the gangs have alliances, and there is hardly any action. What I suggested is if that was all changed to a system based off pks like I mentioned at the beginning of the thread, then gangs would have to go to war against other gangs or else get slower gang pks. And if only the gang holding the base has their "gang pks" count, then other gangs would have to raid a base, take the base, and get kills. Because of how that would take place, bases would be nothing like they are now. I believe every base would be a war, and it would sort of rotate through all of them as the "mob" moves around.

Maybe like every 10 pks you get in a base within a certain time will add you like 1 minute to ur total time and you have to own the base

Hmm very interesting idea..although I think 10 might be a bit too high to motivate gangs to do something other than afk in the corner. Maybe every 1 kill adds a minute to their hours, and then make the gang rewards harder to get.

If its 1 kill 1 minute during forts they could probably get lots of time maybe 1 for every 10 the mins would be extra time not meant to be the main way to gain the time and during wars between gangs it adds a bigger perk to the people who are winning if they did this though it should not work during for fort pr it's like 1 min every 30 kills during fort since the people competing in fort are vulnerable really since they stay in certain areas usually and you just spam gas or psg at them

Yes, but once you start getting all technical, the whole thing gets super complicated. Keep it simple, remove the hour system, and base it on pks like i mentioned in the beginning of the thread.

If it was like that players would probably not go to the base since if they get killed they are helping the gang they probably hate if they are going vs them

This could actually make basing more interesting as gangs would stated raiding each other for PKs

I don't know what the deal is with Bitzsam and his idea with the gang fortress, but imo this idea is better plus I don't think he's even working on the fortress anymore.
