LYK Trade Protocol

After many hours of thought, I have finally came up with a revolutionary way to reduce scams.

1. Trade reviews
Every player will have a trade profile displaying all the reviews if people who has transacted with him or her before. After every trade, both seller and buyer are allowed to leave reviews of the player and give a rating out of 10. These reviews are accessible at the player's profile, so every potential trader will be aware of the person's tendency to scam or lie etc.

The trade reviews camnot be removed unless the player changes trade pass.

The trade reviews will show the items in the trade. E.g., if you buy a shovel for 2 shells, and the trader tries to sabotage your reputatiom by leaving a bad rep, the items involved in the trade will be shown in the review as well, so the viewer judges for him or herself if the trade was fair.

If the person is an avid trader, only tge last 10 records will show. The older reviews will be removed BUT they will still affect the average rating (which will show in the trade profile). Meaning, if a player scams 50 times and gets 0 stars, and got 2 stars for 10 trades (which is shown in his trafe profile), his or her average rating will be 0.33, which is still bad.

2. Trade pass.

For players to trade they will need a trade pass that costs 500 gralats for a first time buy. It has no expiry date. The pass can be revoked only uf an admin catches the guy scamming. However, if a scammer consistently receives bad reviews, it will show on their trade profile. If they want to remove these bad reviews, they will have to replace their trade pass , which will cost 30k gralats (for 2nd time and beyond purchase)

This carries a clear message - trade properly or risk having a bad reputation. If you want to get rid of bad rep, its going to be costly as well, so its better to trade properly than to pay heavy prices.

3. Trade admin
If we are to get admins to regulate trade they will be working 24/7. But now if we get a trade admin, this admin will just have to ensure that the trade tables are functioning properly with no bugs or glicthes. If a glitch is suspected (either through say, a person trading an item but not receiving the item) the matter can be reported to the trade admin. The trade admin will investigate and if one party of the trade is found to be hacking or abusing glitch, the trade pass of that guy will be revoked and other punishments may follow.

4. Transaction logs

There could be a kiosk at trade centre showing the last 100 trades that took place at the centre. It will show the items involved, so players can have a reference price to sell or buy items so that they do not overpay or underpay.

What if a player reviews another player unfairly? The idea is unnecessary and has alot of defects, 30k on changing a pass that someone falsely reviewed you? The idea is expensive and unnecessary. I only find the transaction log that will show only the last 5 trades youve recently done. Trading tables rarely have bugs and glitches there is absolutely no reason to have a new admin position. If you have alot of ideas like this, make your own game. Those ideas cant be implemented in this game in any sort. Do not waste your time giving ideas, waste your time making your own game.

As I have said, the items involved in the transactions will be shown. If someone badly reviewed you, and the items involved turned out to be something of the market price, then the viewers would not regard the review as bad as the reviewer deed. Would really appreciate that you consider this (as I have mentioned in my post) and not cherrypick part of the post to form an argument that clearly misses details like this.

In your post you made little to none justification of your arguments except impulsive and unnecessarily aggressive questioning.

Moreover, thank you for caring about my time, but i think it would be good for you to stick to the topic.

Trade tables rarely experience glitches or bugs? How'd you know? Every second so many trades are taking place across the server with many players whose connections are vastly different, what are the chances? Even so, the trade admin could take on other roles as well, apart from being a trade admin. If trades doesnt give him or her much jobscope.

i love this concept but i feel as players would boost there score by trading with other accounts or that players may get a fair trade but leave a bad review to troll but ill add to this concept if you dont mind what if there was also a machine or something you can grab to report a false review a trade admin can comfirm if it could be false or true

Pertaining to the issue of false reviews, as I have said, the items involved will be shown so the credibility of the review will be judged by the player when they look at the items involved.

If i did a fair trade of say, 1 shovel for 2 shells (which is the market rate) and someone leaves a bad review, then those who view my review will tell that the reviewer is trolling or overly pessimistic.

Players can choose to use fake accounts to trade, but their fake accounts will have to buy a trade permit as well as pay for every single trade that they undertake (which is going to be costly for anyone to want to rationally do it.) Imagine someone buying a trade plus and undertaking 20 trades with his main account - thats a total of nearly 1k gralats wasted, as well as time. Plus, if a guy decided to trade with them and they see their past 10 trades was done with the same guy using similar items repetitively, obviously they would know the review is faked.

Item 4 is the only item I'd be on board with.

The rest aren't that good and the only reason why is because admins specifically state your items are your responsibility, and they can't do anything about scammers or when your items get scammed.

No you're missing the point here....

We fall victim to scams because we do not know the background of the other party well.

Having #1 allows us to know the trade history of the other party so we can decide if we are to go ahead with transaction. Being responsible is one thing, but we could only be responsible for our items if we know the tradjng habits of the other party through their trade reviews as I have suggested. Without that, even if you are superresponsible and you end up trading with a serial scammer theres no way for you to know.

I dont use that App and i dont know what feature it has anyway. From what I know its not about trade and I definitely dont get what ever that follows from SCDF.

See that would work if there weren't such things as boosting reputation stats and whatnot the scammers could use to make themselves seem legit. People aren't dumb, and many users have been using other tactics (such has having many friends say their casino is legit or having their friend severely overpay for a cheap item and declining their offer, making the item seem super rare) to scam other players. As the system grows, so does the intelligence of the people playing, and the system would soon just end up becoming another thing where traders bribe other users to +rep them for items or convince their friends to.

Maybe I'm missing something but I still think this idea isn't all that good.

Boosting reputation is one common issue but, if you were really scammed by a guy, would you , on his request, still give him a good reputation? And even if he or she was your friend, would you still befriend that person?

If the trade was fair and the person wanted to boost a little reputation, it won't matter because the reviews they get would alrwady be quite good in the first place since they traded fairly.

Trade permits is to ensure that traders take trading seriously and do not troll or hog trade tables without trading etc.

You're relying on the idea that everyone that plays GraalOnline Era is a good person. That's false, and people will assist in conning others, especially if it means they get something out of it justifying it by saying "it doesn't effect them."

I know there could be syndicates, but it is going to be quite costly since they now have trade permits and the trading table cost. It may also be just a minority who would do so because the whole process is going to cost money and time. And since the people involved will be shown, of a person consistently trades with the same guy or two, then its obvious that something is wrong.

Plus the trade items involved will be shown, so if the transaction looks fishy (e.g. a person giving him a skatetp and then giving a high review and him giving the other person a skatetp in another transaction, just an example) we will know.

I still think this entire system would cause more issues than it would solve. The trading system now is not perfect, however is properly maintained as there are rarely any people in this community that do get away with scamming on the big enough level where it needs to be better moderated, and I feel as if something like this would never be added because admins do not get involved with trades and the people who use them to scam others, by association having a heavily moderated system (especially trade specific admins) for it would be nothing but a contradiction of that.

The trade admin suggestion may not be very good, i do have to admin when I thought of it. It was really an idea I was willing to do away with in this protocol.

On the idea of trade permits and trade reviews, i recognise that there will be people who will try to cheat the system( as with other current in game system and laws), but these will just make the idea less effective;doesnt mean that the idea isn't effective. There are hardly any perfect solution and as I have said in the first post, I want to reduce scams and not eliminate it. If we sit and wait for a perfect solution we will probabaly not arrive at one.
