Lets Be Honest

Lets be honest this game is going to die a slow death. Witch is a huge shame. This is a cool concept free game that has in game events, a community, different activity’s, and a tons more. But its never going to go anywhere without advertising and that’s obviously not happening anytime soon and if they even decide to it will be to late.Forget a playerbase if people don’t even know this game exists.. I want this game to live and have a server filled with more than 1k players but these things need to be happen before that even happens.

1. Advertise
2. Stop hiring kids for admins
3. Add more content
4. Fix lag issues
5. Get more staff that matter
(pay devs eventually?)

With this in mind and all these issues I am not faithful, I am sorry for being blunt but it’s true, the management team is mostly( Not all I know there are some awesome people who are trying super hard to keep this game up) kids who can’t focus and get this game back up. What I am trying to say is, era is doomed without advertising and I don’t think the management are in a state to make the sacrifice. I check back in every so often to see how its going but this isn’t something I am always on so if I don’t respond back for a while I apologize. If this thread is taken down idc. When this game dies I recommend picking up “Destiny 2” its fun and is becoming free so thanks for reading this and have a good night. :)

It’s sad that whoever the hell runs this game anymore doesn’t seem to care. I don’t see why.. So much wasted potential..

call of duty mobile releases globally soon also

Most of these would be resolved if the server administrators would be more open with the community and wouldn't actively censor those who want a open flow of conversation between the community and the admins.

That and upgrade the servers kthx the screen freezes every 3 seconds

Unfortunately none of these are visible in the near future because the management for iEra has been really lacking as of late. Doesn't mean they're impossible though.

True but its not snk anymore most of the staff gave up and don’t even care anymore. The current manager in my opinion should be replaced he/she isn’t using this game for a profit probably more for a hobby and does not care about the state of the game or the players. I would love for era to get back up but its a very slim chance

I’ll disagree, our manager has been working very hard with all of us. Ever since he came in he has been doing an outstanding job at trying to fix issues the game previously had. But like I said before that of course takes time, games can’t be fixed from one day to the other, and people fail to realize that.

So how long will it take? Surely glaring issues such as lag does not need years.

And what's the point of saying this mysterious manager, "has been working very hard with all of us," when he has been absent in the public spotlight? Show us this outstanding job. Where is he. You're certainly not going to sway anyone with abstracts.

He doesn't need to be in public spotlight to do or be good. You wanna know where he is at? Probably busy, in some unreleased level, working on something for all of us. I know myself, Hoyt does an outstanding job.

iEra, to put it simply, is in the middle of a transition phase. New manager, new staff, new players and new problems arising at least once a week that need to be dealt with.

I don't know how old Hoyt is, but regardless of age I can imagine it's pretty stressful having the responsibility of handling something as big as this game and overlooking as much as possible to make sure as many things can stay in line.

You'll get everything you asked for with patience. Auctions, events, cool holiday shops and quests will all continue once we get out of this really rough spot. iEra as with all of the other servers have been experiencing a drought, but complaining constantly instead of providing actual constructive criticism will only delay the issue.

Yes, with patience you can get everything.

I'm not glossing over the issues that iEra has, that's not my intentions. I'm simply saying that the complaints aren't the way to go if we want things to change.

We all have our own feelings on the subject, however saying that our staff teams do not care will never help the issues. Players need to keep in mind that while we try our best to give everyone new and fresh ideas, those ideas also take time, and yes sometimes they might take years. Saying that we don't care really hurts, or when we try HARD to please what everyone wants and we get "EW This sucks!" "New VIP stinks!" "Stupid admins" ect, ect, and ect. Like GFX works hard on new items, and they are thrown off with mean words like that, not even opinions, but hateful things. But they keep doing it because one good comment out does the 200 hateful ones. Who else is going to make these items for ya'll? Who else is going to answer the same questions over and over.
Being any kind of staff, from Newspaper - Higher Staff is hard. It is not easy, but we do it because we enjoy making things, learning things, and helping ya'll. (Most do, and I do) With this being said, I am sorry it is not turning out how you would like, we are always trying our hardest to make this game fresh and enjoyable, it just takes time.

The things they have been working on aren’t very relevant right now.. For the most part it’s been adding house competitions, fixing glitches here and there, but that’s all I’ve seen. Maybe there’s something being worked on behind the scenes, but we wouldn’t know because of the lack of transparency between the management and players. Advertising and fixing larger issues such as lack of useful staff should be the priority.

Content isn’t the issue, I’m happy with most of it. People are concerned about the lowering number of players. You’re a great staff in my opinion and I’m sure many others <3. What people want is for the game they have been playing for years to not die.

House competitions were added by iMask himself with the approval of Hoyt of course. Yeah Glitches will always be fixed or tried to be fixed. Just because you as a player don't see the things we work on or do behind the scenes doesn't mean nothing is being done. The very point you don't see or hear about anything we do is because of projects like Country Side that got leaked and eventually just scrapped and who was in charge of that at the time? Your amazing SNK that is so amazing because he was in the "public spotlight". Yeah I have respect for SNK and what he's done for the game but he also left a lot of problems and is one of the reasons the game is where it's at. By the way what do you mean by "the lack of useful staff"? How would you know who is useful and who isn't you don't see what who works on and who does what. All the PRs do their job and occasionally do extra and host events for the players. The Graphics and Gani team work hard basically every week to make content for holiday shops, events and anything extra being made. The several Managers are always trying to improve things such as Junz working on Plasma and Jeff running the events and even added in that recent small quest. Hoyt is busy with many many things not just iEra. Advertising is just pointless since the game can barely handle 3000 players as we witness last night but then again the game doesn't need to handle 3000 players unless the server did get an upgrade which isn't up the in game staff anyways. Theres no transparency because no one wants a repeat of Country Side where a big project gets hyped and then scrapped and becomes a let down. The only time I would see something get hyped up is if it was finished and ready to be released and just want to see player reactions to it and see the feedback etc.

Thank you, that means a lot. As to players any game gets like this after a while. The number of players is not really something we can control. Sure we can add new things, and keep updated with the times but old players will leave, they grow up, become busier, ect. However new players will join and refill. We are at an awkward age range right now. And with school starting back up here in a few weeks for some it will be harder.

You’re kind of missing my point, and I don’t think I even mentioned Snk in my comment. What I mean by transparency is not related to content, because like I said that isn’t the issue here. It’s so that players have some assurance as to the direction of the game, as in things like advertising, progress on what they are working on to resolve the issues we are having now, etc.

P.S. You’re also a great staff and I know you do a lot of work, so don’t feel discouraged because you aren’t a part of the problem, if that seems like what I am trying to say. <3

Of course, no problem at all :). I’m personally worried that there won’t be new people to come to the game to begin with, because of the lack of advertising/promotion from the game, other than that of people who already play the game spreading it through word of mouth. That’s actually how I found it, a friend told me about it years and years ago.

I don’t think it’s fair to say ‘Administration doesn’t care’. I know for fact that Junz cares; and from what I can see, Hoyt and Jeff care — they’ve been cranking out updates fairly frequently these past couple months.

I’m confident that lower playercounts as of late are due to a dwindling attention to the market which the game is serving.

I wouldn’t pour money into advertising until the game offers something that we know would stick. That’s simply not the case right now.

We saw this in action a couple years back, when XXXTentacion gave Graal more exposure than thousands of dollars in advertising could have provided.

He simply posted to his social media, “this is a game I used to play”, and within hours, thousands of his followers poured onto iClassic. Within days however, the playercount was back to its normal numbers - it seems none of those players stayed.

As an accountant who studies business on a daily basis, I would have brought the team together and asked the question: “how did over a thousand people show up at our store, and not buy anything?”

The problem isn’t advertising; or lack of exposure - it’s that the market is not perceiving replay value.

This happens every day - we have players show up, play a little bit, and when they don’t see value, they leave. The XXX case study above just showcases it at scale.

Don’t get me wrong - I’ve played this game since 2002, and I can still spend hours playing it. I love how competitive it is, and more so how unique it is.

The gameplay is so unique, in fact, that Era literally has a monopoly on it. There’s no other online game on the face of this planet that victory can be had by honing the skill of bullet dodging.

Granted, the hitbox and movement could be improved— but it’s a near-perfect marriage of the ‘Bullet Hell’ genre, and MMO PvP. We could literally copy any game mode from popular FPS games, and it would be a totally different meta — solely because of bullet dodging.

The problem lies in the execution - the monopoly they have (bullet dodging) is not emphasized in the gameplay, and hence is not advertised in any of their teaser photos / descriptions on App Store / Play Store.

The untapped market is ridiculously lucrative; Era is sitting on so much opportunity to capture it; this 3k-5k playerbase they’re settling for is a fraction of what it could be.

I only hope the folks at Toonslab realize this and start executing before somebody else does — it pays to be first.

Yes, you are correct but their isn’t enough admins to help and what I have heard most don’t get paid. I am hopeful but I just don’t see that happening. Maybe advertising jobs for younger programmers as experience and maybe help them for college/future careers as a reference and experience while the game as a whole benefits.

The way I see it, Era is done.

There's an abundance of excitement for new players, until they see a graphics scheme of a predominantly dull, suburban game clashed with anime design. They especially lose excitement when they walk into a pk area and get obliterated. Updates will not help, only restrictions.

What should have happened is that Era should have kept it's original graphics scheme. Comparing with Classic, Dusty and them never lost sight of Classic's original scheme, so they never updated with things out of the realm. Very well-thought designs that are true to the game.

Another thing, Era's gun system. I can't walk out of the east side of Start without dying at least once. Sure, revives help but that isn't a satisfying fix. What should have happened is that era should not have ever released a 250k gun(BAR) right off the bat of a 15k gun(M16) unless we used PC Era's stocking system. PC Era's stocking system let it so that there was a limited amount of OP guns, meaning that admins were able to actually have more control. In that case, we'd have a manageable amount of players using every overpowered gun.

This isn't a matter of paying the team, which is more complicated than Graal would ever want to walk. This also isn't a matter of Era having "exciting new updates." The only way that I can see Era ever being appealing to new players is if it's reset, which will never happen as far as I can see. It's much too complicated on the eyes, and on the temper. We'll only lose current players at this rate from the amount of bans, the progression of boredom, and their age.

Maybe it's just me though. This is how I see it.
