Christmas Presents 2021

Hey all! Christmas is just around the corner. With gifting being released, there have been a couple of major updates to our gifting system.

Like last year, gift opening times will be staggered. Once a present is gifted, the reciever of the present will get a specific gift opening time, from 6am - 6pm on Christmas day. As well, each present gifted will have it's own present ID. This change was necessary to prevent overworking the server with thousands of players opening their gifts at the same time. This also gave us the opportunity to roll for the limited loot via present IDs. In the past, limited loot was first come first serve, which put many players at a disadvantage of getting them. Now, you can have the latest opening time and still have a chance of getting something limited. The 2 major changes that were not present from last year include bulk gifting and the removal of the present limit. When in gifting or exchange mode, you can now select how many gifts you want to send, with a maximum of 10 at a time. Along with this change, we have removed the present limit. For all previous years, a player can only receive so many gifts of each color (around 450-600 per color). This limit won't be in effect this year, and a player can receive unlimited gifts.

As well, some minor UI tweaks were added to make the exhange/gifting process more clear.

So now we’ll be spending 3+ mil gralats on gifts

Excellent changes. While I have never received anything great from gifts, I do like to see a lot more fairness included in who gets what. It really felt like in the past, presents favored people with low latency and a lot of time. Gifting multiple gifts at once is also rather efficient, so yeah, great job lads.

Is there a present milestone?

Wait so if people get like 10,000 gifts does that mean they can get 5 exotic coins on their account ??? that's crazy

Theoretically, they could.get 5 mysterious keycards. The statistical probability is quite low, but it is probable.

Great, in 2019 you only needed around 100-150 gifts to have a good chance at receiving a special item. Now you need at least 1-2k+... Idk how this system is more "fair" and balanced than the old one. It's literally pay to win

Do people actually g4g or do they just use iTunes on an alt? Or is there a way to just gift yourself?

You can use the g4g system abit of a hassle though if youre doing bulk gifts. I suggest find a friend to do it with gift scamming is illegal anyways.

Are event coins randomised still or done with an ID? For example if you buy presents on or after Christmas Day, (so they don’t have a ID given to them), is there a chance you can still get ECs in them?

Last year I still got ecs from gifts after Christmas was over/ presents were able to be opened.

Rare/ultra items are randomized and limited so if you buy gifts after 6 am at Christmas day you won’t get the limited items BUT you can still get ecs and other unlimited items

I really hope that people won't actually be surprised why people who stole their mom's credit card got so many ec items after xmas is over. Imagine making an ingame currency that isn't pay2win and can only be earned by grinding just to remove that whole grinding factor and make it pay2win again. There was a reason for limiting the number of gifts a person could obtain. But I guess if the game is dying anyways you might aswell milk out as much money as you can before completely killing it.
I wouldn't be surprised if in a few months you could buy like a 20x Plasma coins boost for 10k gralats that lasts an hour + releasing op auction items to itune for.

Graal era isn't dying. You just haven't moved on to apex legends is the problem. Give your account to your 13 year old brother and move on if you really think era is dying so bad

Well, in 2015-2017 around xmas there were at least 3-4k people online, usually 3k. Last time I checked on my alt account, only 800 people were online during xmas season.

Yep, let’s start with the most obvious benefit of personalised gifts. By customising your gift with a name, nickname, birthday, or even just an inside joke, it’s instantly unique. You know that there won’t be that awkward moment when they unwrap something they already own. Or worse, open two gifts that are the same.
