Don't waste money on beats. Personally they are over priced and not worth what they cost. Get like Siberia elite headphones from steelseries or skull candy. Much cheaper and better.

I have the beats solo, and I mean they are pretty good and easy to fold up and travel with.

your best bet would be to choose a song you really like (or multiple) which also represent your standard music styles and make sure you have it on your mobile device. go into a shop and plug it to the headphones and listen to the chosen songs on different kind of headsets. in the end you need to like the sound and not others :)
