in your hot keys there is a dedicated unstick me button and car key. why not add skateboard next to the key? as your unable to add it to hot keys yourself.

pretty neat suggestion! i find it hassling to type 'skate' or scroll all the way down in the inventory sometimes. would be pretty cool if it became as accessible as car keys
If I am not wrong you can put your skateboard in your hotkey menu like you do with guns and melees. ( I am most likely wrong)
