With the additions of new and more powerful weapons the weapons of old are continually falling behind, EC weapons are a part of this. If the value of the items that cost EC go down, then so should the amount of EC needed to purchase as EC has kept a relatively stable worth, I believe that making EC easier to get will balance the reward vs. effort when it comes to weapons that will no longer set you apart.
