I get this problem as well, when I zoom out on my iPad it usually shows some small black boxes, it doesn’t disturb me when I’m playing so I just ignore it.
It seems like your screen is zoomed out, so if you want to remove it then just zoom in.
Could be that your device hasn't finish loading the map yet
Happens on Android as well.
