What happened to the staff?

So I don't know if any of the staff have noticed, but I know that a lot of us arent to happy with the major lack of events lately. Like back a few months there was probably 5-7 hosts per day. Now, just since Halloween that number has dropped to 1-3 hosts per day. I initially thought it was because they were allowing time for crypt and trick or treating, but it hasnt improved since those were stopped. I really didn't want to make a post about this, because I know staff have a lot of responsibilities, but come on. Even Sunday there was only 1 host, which really surprised me, because it was the weekend. There's like at least 20 Prs in the game, you would think that reports and uploads wouldn't require all of them all the time. And I know "staff don't have to host," however, I also know that for many players that is the only reason they play, and to only be able to participate in 1 host a day isn't settling well with them.

Maybe cuz hosting takes more concentration than attending reports and approving uploads? Plus events can take a long time to finish

Hosting actually probably requires less concentration than judging uploads and reports. Depending on what events they host, it doesn't have to take long to host events. I don't understand why events have become so scarce now, but I would suggest if staff can't keep up with the work on the game, then maybe we should hire more? Or else we could replace them with more efficient personnel. All i know is 1-2 hosts a day is just pathetic, and I'm not staying around much longer if it stays that way.

I agree that they definitely need more staff to host

There has been some issues running around with the Player Relations population crashing down and low recruitment numbers making it even worse. You should be happy that you at least got an Event. There is a lot going on...

Lol. The only person that has been removed in the past 2 weeks is me, smh

So a lot of staff, such as myself, are starting to get really busy with exams and projects as this semester winds down to a close. While you may see staff online, they are trying to do their respective jobs so as to not get fired or anything. For example, since I now have limited time to be on my staff account a day, I try to work in that time, rather than doing an optional thing like hosting events. Just need to remember that the actual job is more of a priority to staff members than optional things like events.

Also, I’m pretty sure a lot of y’all are exaggerating the infrequency of events recently. I believe I saw at least 3 or 4 staff members hosting on Saturday, not including when I hosted. I guess it just depends what times you’re online. Don’t worry though, once schedules clear up, events will probably be hosted more frequently.

I think there are plenty of PR's in era.

Ok, I understand, but this has been going on for a while. I'm also in a kik group that never misses events, so I know who hosts when. Sunday was the day I decided to write, because Tristan was the only host in that 24 hour period. I assume just like you that it should get better if it's only because of exams and such. However, I also looked at the player relations list, and noticed that most of them have never hosted before, and some of them have been staff for quite a while. I don't know if it's personal issues with events or the annoying spam/hate they get from events, but I would trust that they would be mature enough to handle it, and not just give up on it as a whole.

Some people just don't like hosting due to anxiety. There's no where in the rule book that states whether or not you are obligated to host.
I'm probably sounding like a zany rant right now but seriously, staff don't like your complaints and well this thread is showing it

Well, if anybody got that feeling I apologize. That was never my intention when I wrote what I wrote. I simply wanted to know what was up with the noticeable decrease of events. There is a fine line between sounding like a complainer, and simply drawing attention to something.

That's a totally different topic, but I agree. What I said was events were being hosted 5-6 times a day average, but just recently in the past month or so they have dropped drastically, and just this past week averaged 1-2 hosts per day. I wanted to know what/if there was a reason behind that.

The question he wants to be answered is:

Why are admins rarely hosting events anymore?

I feel you. I asked Junz about this and he said that most of them are busy, but I see them online like 5 hours a day on their admin account

Honestly either they are getting busy with school or irl stuff or busy with players as it is the season where a lot of stuff comes out (black Friday, xmas shop, Halloween, thanksgiving) they are probably being bombarded with questions and complaints from players.

They don’t get spammed as much as u think lol

Well this can be for a number of reasons.
Most importantly it should be noted that events aren't a high priority. Actual PR work > hosting events. Additionally, events take a while to host, and this takes away from the time we could be spending actually working. I also do not host if I'm the only PR online, as there would be no one to do the reports/uploads.
Just because staff don't host when you're online doesn't mean that they're not hosting at all.

Just because staff don't host when you're online doesn't mean that they're not hosting at all.

Makes sense, however, I am in a kik group that spans for events, so I don't miss any.
