I do things with stuff.
I tried putting a .gif in the avatar section but it only gets the first picture slide of the gif.

You need a special program or website to convert your image into a gif.
The gif is practically an image with a ton of images in each frame, compressed down into an animated picture. Gifs are a little costly in memory space as it carries multiple images in one file.
I use this website to convert different images into a gif. You will need multiple images that are not gif to make it work.

If you are reducing the frames of a gif, I am not sure if this website is reliable. It is suggested that you just get the images with different frames and use this website to make a new gif.

Well I created my profile pic on gimp. It worked so most likely it'll work if you use gimp.
