A gmap is essentially a notepad file that strings a series of levels(.nw files) together to give the appearance of one continuous level.
Prior to Gmap, Era's overworld was just a bunch of single levels connected, and we only seen one at a time. It was a good thing, since alot of us still had dial-up connections.

Thanks for briefly explaining this, I did not know how to explain this to the poor iPhone users (even though I started off as an iPhone user myself lol).

You wont be able to see CountrySide on the map whilst you're in for instance, start zone, once you go to the warper to go to the new Gmap, the map will change and the CountrySide will be there- not iEra's main map.

So likewise speaking, it's a 2-dimensional area.
