Alright,time for business.
I've been getting some questions in-game about what Touhou is,and I've decided to make a thread to answer all Touhou questions.
Who,or what, is Touhou?
Touhou is a game made,directed,and designed by one man,who is nicknamed as ZUN.The game styles upon bullet designs,dodging,and shooting as well.It is about a Miko,or shrine maiden,and a magician,that solves incidents in the setting Gensokyo,battling Yōkai(or "monsters"),and as well drinking tea.There are other playable characters that appears throughout the series,like another Miko,a knife throwing maid,and a half ghost //Samurai//.
So basically,it's a 2D Danmaku shooter where you clear multiple stages to clear the game.
Also,to some people,the official art sucks,but the fanbase have already taken care of that.

Is Touhou also an anime?
No,it is not.You hear me?There are fan-made animes of Touhou(ie.Memories of Phantasm),but ZUN is not wanting Touhou to become a huge official anime.

Where do I get Touhou?
You can buy the official games on Amazon and such sold by Team Shanghai Alice.
Don't be cheery though,it's about $30 for one game.You can also download it.

You're on your own.Touhou is a hard game,but gets easier when you get used to it.
Difficulty:
Easy Modo-For people who doesn't play Danmaku Shooters that much.
Normal Modo-For those who are quite usual players.
Hard Modo-For experts.
Lunatic Modo-For Crazy people.
Are there English patches for Touhou?
Yes,for all games I believe.You could find them here in the link:

What are the controls for playing Touhou?
Z=Shoot
X=Bomb(Which eats the bullets if you have enough bombs)
Shift=Focus(Shows your hitbox,making you FOCUS.)
Esc=Pause game
How did Touhou get so popular?
Perhaps the music that plays,bullet designs,but if it's something else...

This PV of the stage 3 BGM of Touhou 4 has reached popularity.Even people made a Vocaloid version of it,therefore making some people think Bad Apple is from Vocaloid,when they're highly mistaken.
