None of the melees have a fast attacking speed.
They're all gani'ed to have the same speed and timing.
...except katana, bamboo, legend, light sabers and etc.

It really depends on what kind of weapons you're referring to.
Like the pirate hammer, that thing swings slow because it was gani'ed differently compared to other melees.
Do take note that it's not the speed that matters but most likely the script that enables the melee to deal damage within a timer. The speed of the weapon doesn't always define it as something that will kill someone faster than other limits.
It's quite hard to explain since I don't know what makes up for the melee's damage after gani'ing it.
katana, stuffs and other weapons like them are faster than daggers and swords, scythes and swords are slower than daggers and trash picks and chainsaw are the slowest
