    ifile "hacking"

i keep seeing these people than claim to be "hacking" graal using ifile and they can use any item they want by replacing an item they have. I know people have done this before but this time other people can see the item they replace. Is this allowed or should he be jailed for this?

I don't really think it's hacking. They are changing the "graphics" of the item, though. Like the wand thingy, bullets came out, because it was a Mini. Might look like you're hacking, but other players see it your normal items you are really using.
    Computer Science major? I don't know. What's GS2?

    Similar to modding a game.

    Bingo.

They're just making duplicates of the desired weapon animations, then renaming the copies to overwrite the animations of guns they have access to.

It's an entirely clientside edit, and other players won't see the modifications, since the gani isn't overwritten on their client.

Their guns won't behave any differently, since it's just the animation that gets changed.
It's pretty much a skin that only you can see.

I wouldn't flatter them by calling it "hacking".

I've seen people get jailed for editing files, yes.

Sometimes it could give a mechanical advantage to the person.
For example, if they modified a bullet that has an obnoxiously long bullet trail, to not have that trail.

Back in the day, it was all the rage to resize doors and walk right through them.
Then we got smart and began using setimgpart.

The only thing I can think of, is if the animation has a 'setbackto' on it.
Then, the game recognizes the setbackto script, and sets it accordingly.

As I stated- yes; this is a jailable offense.
