The Graphic Tutorial Thread
So you want to create pixel art? You want to make graphics for iEra?
First thing first, you must learn how to draw, if not, what will you accomplish?
Open your art program!
Wait, you don't have one or you don't know which program is best?
Here's a list helpful programs:
- GIMP
- Photoshop
- Paint.net
- Paint Program from Windows
iOS:
- ArtStudio
Android:
- Pixel Art Editor
Soon you finish that, why don't you just doodle around with your brush?
(Tip: Always have the pencil 1px and hard edge if on PC program or iOS!)
Got an idea of what to draw? Outline it! Don't worry about AA or jaggies right now!

(Tip: Don't forget to make your image at least 16x16 or bigger, people will view it from 100% view, smaller it is, not clear it'll be!)
Very well, now fix your outlines, and this time avoid jaggie lines!

Soon you finished with that, start coloring!! Be careful with the color pallette! Learn about Hue, Saturation, and Shading!

Well I guess you are done? No. You are not. Submit your work on Era-Go, Graalians, PixelJoint, or any community forum that can give you tips or help you out with your work.

Success comes within the mind, don't give yourself nasty and mean comments about you not doing it well and never will be great like Shiz or Storm.
They all started from Phase 1, all you have to do is take the first step to the journey of success, maybe Shiz and Storm are really far away, but that won't stop you from making pixel art (or your dreams). You must start now and walk through the journey, even if there are rough times. (AA, Shading, Palletes, Sprites, etc.)
You'll be a successful artist, you will!
