Yeah it definitely helps one way or another.
The ipod touch(5th/6th gen), Iphone 5s & Ipad air 2 are some of the devices that i would recommend (i don't use android devices so i didn't mention any)
If you're wondering why iphone 6 isn't mentioned, it's because most graalians using iphone6 faced issues with the controls, you'd have probably realized it by now with the amount of "iphone 6 controls" threads being made.
