It just comes down to personal preference. Katana is more offensive and in general a better weapon, but if you are more interested in an ability such as healing, you would prefer the legend staff. Their uses apply to different situations. I own both a katana and water melee, and the water melee is quite useful, especially if you base, but all in all I like the design and concept of the katana more. There's my two bits. If you're making 3 ec a day you should have both within the month lol.

Katanas are pretty fast, but legend staff is a bit slower, it can heal.

Get Legend, it's 8 damage but it is decent as a melee, best thing is it heals, saves you a lot of trouble putting valentine bombs to heal your friends
Well they are diffrent ways to earn Ec. To events (Event house) and events that admins produce such as FB.
