Treadmill trick on iPad?

Is there a way to do that treadmill trick where you're running and you press gang chat so it holds on iPad? I've tried a number of times and i can't seem to make it work, and no, i'm not going to sit there for 15 minutes with my hand on the screen ;-;.

Instead of pressing the gang chat button, press on the status button. Works for me when I'm on iPad.

It doesn't work either i just stop running all together.

So you grabbed the treadmill, held down run, pressed on profile, still held onto run, pressed on status, let go of run, exited out of status and still doesn't work?

Yes it works Myst.
I'm using an iPad Air 2 and it works perfectly.
You could try tapping gc then tapping out of it quickly,takes a few tries.
