To be realistic, players who constantly get jailed, never take time to actually reflect on what they did wrong.
They just go do other things while waiting, play other games, watch tv, whatever it is.
To make it a difficult task,
What if, with the trash idea, we could use a maze, much like the one from 2014 Halloween, except you have full vision of the map.
Basically, you'd have to run around the maze, while having to pick up trash.
This is just an idea.
