Mining update?

Is this an update that I am unaware of?

So if I mine one piece of rock comes out like this:
(I am the guy with the blue shirt to the left)

To get to the next stage I have to keep holding for a minute, walk away, go back, then mine at the same spot.

Is it an update that I did not know about?

I've been pressing for 3 minutes. It's my first dig since 3 months...

The update is that the drill is no longer automatic. You could either rapidly tap to mine, or wait until the timer is over (and do whatever in the mean time) then just tap once. If you want to know how long the timer is, it's
10 seconds - .1seconds*level.

You need to tap when you mine now. You can either tap repeatedly, or tap and wait a few seconds then tap again (saves battery). You also do not need to pick the rock up. Once it's glowing, you will see at the bottom of your screen that you have picked the rock up.
