My melee!!!!

Hey guys, so this is my second GFX.
My first one, a gun, turned out horrible.
I have found I'm slightly better with melees.
I really like this, I spent a huge amount of time on it. Please give me feedback/advice and/or compliments!
I hope this gets into the game, I'm that excited about it.

I made the redder one a jpeg because I like it a bit better. It's 100% original, I made it from scratch. I'm thinking like, calling it the blood axe or something. Made with GIMP and Paint.

Yeah no, that's obviously a resized image.
No one takes one pixel to blend it almost exactly with another pixel.

I don't understand...
1st I drew the outline with high opacity, then I started shading it. At first, it was all black and grey, then I added some red on low opacity.
I saved it again, then decided it would look cooler with MORE red, so I added more and that's how I got the second one.
What are you suggesting I did?
