IDC but it's most likely a key to something. Here's why
1. it's to rare to be a currency, i mean if somehting costs 2 Exotic coins is a very high price, but whereas 1 coin isn't
2. Considering the prices of other stuff I'm pretty sure they would even sell a starter gun for 1 exotic
3. Why would there be a secret room with a symbol of the "Exotic" Coin.
4. Can't be anything really cool, only a few people have it others who don't would complain "Oh that's not fair that I didn't get a exotic coin, I demand to get something!"
5. If it's tradable well I mean, can you trade EC or gralats? Nope.
