Can someone explain to me how pausing works and how I do it?

It usually happens when someone multitasks.
Opening another app or website. Thing is about "Paused" is that you can shut down from iEra and the thing restarts. (Meaning you log off.)
Paused isn't much of a big deal, though.

Android:
Simply click the home button, and your app will still be kept running, meanwhile, your character will pause him/herself and you will be immune to damage until you go back in the app and recieve the afterdamage.
iDevice:
Activate "Multitasking" in your options menu. It will keep the app running when you click the home button, but pause you.

It could be due to lag or player account development, or maybe because you have VIP Le have been in the era gym and walk faster. Who knows

If you use an Android device, pull your notification bar, that would do the same effect of being paused
Newbies walk slow due to the fact that they are new and they haven't hit the gym yet.
No speed boost = slow speed.
