    How do they do it and they can go right past it without slowing down

    Try not to face in the direction of the traps so you can avoid them.

    Depends, usually you can just turn away from the traps like nikki said. Sometimes people just lag and go through them.

    for car dodge race,
    just run up with your back facing the traps, that way you wont trigger them as long as you're not facing them.

    for hard race, there's not really a way you can avoid them since they block the path itself, you just have to step on them and if you fall down into the water and respawn, you can try to run past the path before the traps respawn.

    Maybe that is why you see others walking past the traps in your point of view, but in actual fact they don't have any traps blocking them in their point of view
