I think you lost it by not exiting out the app thoroughly before you were making a trade, Era doesnt replace loss or stolen items

On ios You have to double tap the home button and swipe up the application in order to fully close an app

I have a feeling your not telling us something...
You could try submitting a ticket to support.toonslab.com, but I highly doubt you will get your melees back.
Nothing any of us here can do. Sorry
