Does she have a laptop/computer?
Check the internet connectivity between her iPod and router, there shouldn't be any issue connecting to Era from another state.
Restart the routerit's working to me if i can't connect in iEra

She already did couple of times.
I know a few people who've had this problem. It's a wifi issue, apparently. As far as I know, there isn't instant fix instead of switching your wifi network.
Sometimes it lets you connect, but for the majority of the time, it doesn't
