A melee can drop a person's health from 50 to 0 faster than it can a flag. If the melee stacks than it will kill very fast, however this doesn't necessarily mean that it is the fastest on a flag. Also, idk if Sam was talking about which melee swings the fastest to the eye, or which melee hits the flag the fastest.
I think the Ice staff is the fastest, the one you were able to get from Christmas the ice staff is a auto meelee.
