The Original Carbine is good from what I've seen, the other Ion weapons seem to be intriguing because of the secondary weapon.
I'll give a run-down of each gun and then pick the best in my opinion.. I'll also include a rating from 1-10
(+) or (-) also means if it's a positive or negative
Ion Minigun/Shotgun:
- High freeze when shot constantly (Minigun) -
- Low damage (Minigun) -
- Stacks (Minigun) +
- Very little spread (Minigun) -
- Low capacity (Shotgun) -
- High freeze (Shotgun) -
- Good PK weapon and base (Both) +
- Very bad for spar (Both) -
Rating: 6/10
Ion Pistols:
- Good damage (8-9 Perfect) +
- High spread +
- High capacity +
- High freeze -
- Slow and very predictable jet-pack -
- Short reload +
- Stacks +
- Ok for spar +/-
- Bad for base and pk -
Rating: 7.5/10
Ion Bow:
- Low freeze +
- High capacity +
- Slow firerate -
- High damage (12-13?) +
- Shield isn't very effective -
- Bad for spar, pk and basing -
- Doesn't stack -
- 0 spread -
Rating: 7/10
Ion Smg/Cannon
- Low freeze (Smg) +

Therefore:
Carbine is the best in my opinion, it's the OG ion weapon, a beast in spar and fun in base, it's unique modes make it fun and it's stats put it at the top of the list for best spar weapons in the game.

Ion sniper is good for basing. But I'll recommend you go for ion carbine, it was the most abilities. (I think or ion katana)
It's really good for sparring and not bad for basing. But if your a pker go for ion pistols idk. I didn't choose ion mini is because it's similar to pbp and the mini gun. Just get that 2 then you got it

If you already have a GM4 then buy the ion sniper. It isn't worse than m107 as other people are saying, its stats are inbetween the m107 and psg.
It's really good in bases and in some situations because it has a 50% chance of knockback which throws people off and can sometimes prevent them from running away.
Its bullet position is further from the gun than most guns so it's not good up close but at closemedium- medium it's really good because your bullet will be hitting them before they hit you (if you both shoot at the same time) and can catch them offguard because they might not realise how quickly the bullet will reach them.
It also shoots over lots of doors/ walls.
Invisibility cloak isn't that good if you are in an empty base with no people, but in a busy base that is being attacked, people aren't paying as much attention to them game as they are to shooting and dodging, so you can definitely sneak into bases in those situations.
If you like pking outside of bases the ion bow is really good. It has high freeze so isn't very good in 1v1 but because there is so much room outside it doesn't matter as much. It is a 4 shot kill so you will generally kill a lot of people quickly as well as people running around who are on low health who have been shot by other people. They could have been hit by 4 shots from a 9 damage gun and would get 1 hit by the ionbow. It also basically has unlimited ammo besides 1 quick reload after 50 shots so you can shoot it constantly

I have carbine and ion pulse cannon and I say that pulse cannon is good for pking and the shotgun is useless. The pulse cannon doesn't make u slow like the minigun which is good. But I really like carbine better it is really good I don't regret it but I regret pulse cannon because I don't really pk. The other ions I heard suck so just get carbine.
