The Coalition Revision(Job Update: Concepts, Revisions, and Systems).

(I'm baaaaaaack(even though most of y'all don't know me, prolly)...)

Let me start off by stating right here, in bold, that this is nothing but a concept to think on and look back to for future reference. Though the contents of this thread may appear demanding and/or unrealistic for iEra to handle in it's current state, please keep in mind that the ideas presented from this point are "food for thought" at best and were made with no other intention than to inspire, innovate, and entertain. That being said, should any of the content in this thread be implemented into the game under any guise, I, at the very least, ask for a bit of recognition.

With that out of the way, let's get this party started.

    Intro:

I had some chats with a few players around Era and felt pretty motivated to make a thread with suggestions we felt would improve upon the breadwinning experience of iEra. From systems designed to reward players for collaborating in money making efforts to brand new job concepts that give a higher pay out to simplistic revisions of current occupations, the Coalition Revision aims to revitalize and revisit the grind for those in iEra willing to put in actual work rather than fork over a credit card.

    Unions:
     Spoiler

What if players could form Unions that offer benefits to members for collaborating and making money alongside one another, forming and functioning similar to that of Party benefits in other games? Such benefits could include drop rates, reduced time, healing, etc. For instance, digging while within a certain distance of other Union members could increase shell drop rate by "X" amount/percent(possibly scaling positively for each Union member within the determined radius) or reduce crab spawn rate by "X" amount/percentage. The purpose of these unions is to steroid money earning and reward players for collaborating with one another.

In addition, trading with and PKing alongside Union members could offer specific bonuses such as no tax on trade and the ability to share kills with ally Union members if one does 15 or more damage.

Unions consist of 5 or 10 members, there could be an additional chat for said members, and union members could remain partied during basing.

If I HAD to create a list of specific bonuses)
     Spoiler

    Universal
+Union members have no trade tax when trading with one another.
+Union members receive equal payment every time an ally Union member finishes a mail/car job mission.
+Union members heals on other Union members OUTSIDE of bases are 15% stronger.

    Mining
+5(+1 per nearby Union Member)% Increased mining speed while nearby fellow Union members.
+Union members can purchase/gift battery power to allies.
+Rocks refined near ally Union members are 10(+5 per nearby Union member)% less likely to fail(the red bar you sometimes get)

    Digging
+If no crabs present, Union members restore 1(+1 per nearby Union member) health every 2 seconds while nearby allies.
+Shells have a 15(+1 per nearby Union member)% increased drop rate.
+Crabs are 15(+1 per nearby Union member)% less likely to spawn.

    Flower Picking(the joke job)
+Flowers picked while near Union members are worth 0.5(+0.5 per nearby Union member up to +4.5) more graalats and are referred to as Enhanced [insert Flower name].
+Union members within a certain radius of one another pick up flowers at faster rates(all Union members pick 10% per tap on flowers when close).
+Successfully Picking a flower restores 10 health to all Union members within a certain radius

    Pizzaaaa
+Union Members receive 15(+2 per nearby Union member)% more graalats from finished pizzas while in the same room as other Members.
+Union Members... idk can top another members pizza? Sounds dirty, I like it.

    Mail/Car Jobs
I'll save this for the revisions section.

    Trash/Mushroom
I'll save this for the revisions section, but I'm open to suggestions.

    Base/PK
+Union members OUTSIDE of bases have the ability to share kills with ally Union members if one does 15 or more damage before the target is killed.
+Union members receive 15(+1 per nearby Union member)% more graalats from holding bases.

    Job Concepts
     Spoiler

The following jobs were suggested by various players around iEra and fleshed out based on a demand for higher paying work.

    Storefront
     Spoiler

Up to four players take a position behind the counter and throughout the facility of any store in the game. Players earn varying salaries depending on the job they do, and have different jobs to do.

cashier- The Player who runs the cash register operates from behind the counter, dealing with NPCs that enter at a regular interval. All they have to do is answer simple math questions regarding the NPC's change. Players earn a ghost fee of 30 graalats per NPC served and will receive half the total amount of graalats for their work every 5 minutes has passed(consider this your salary). After 15 minutes, players may quit the job and will receive whatever is left of their pay.

Janitor- One of the players who work the floor will take up a mop in both weapon slots, and will be responsible for cleaning up random bits and pieces that spawn in different areas of the store(if the store is large then a marker will appear pointing toward the last bit of trash to spawn. Players earn a ghost fee of 15 graalats per bit of trash cleaned and will receive half their total payment every 5 minutes(consider this your salary). After 15 minutes, players may quit the job and will receive whatever is left of their pay.

Supplier- One-Two of the players working the floor will be in charge of restocking any items. As time progresses, the state of all the items available in the shop will deteriorate. It's these players' job to restore these items. Every 5 minutes, Suppliers earn a base pay of 50 graalats and gain an additional 5 graalats for every item above 75% integrity at the end of said interval.

    Union Bonus:
     Spoiler

+Union Members working in the same shop receive 1.30(+0.05 per Union Member)x the usual number of graalats at the end of each full shift(15 minutes).
+Items Suppliers watch over items deplete at a 4(+1 per Union Member working)% slower rate for each Union Member working in the same shop.

    Supply Drop(Gang Job)
     Spoiler

The City of Era has rightfully been declared a War Zone by higher powers. Those who sympathize have declared the citizens need relief if they are to resist the expanding criminal influence. But what if the criminals, too, could dictate the aid people receive? That's money. Your jobs are to secure supply drops for yourself and ship the materials off to a secret buyer for payment.

    The Job:

Random crates of supplies are being dropped around the open PK areas of iEra.

Gangs must control the area around these crates(think Neo Zone) until the crate is 100% ready to be lifted, with the readiness of the crate increasing by 5% every 3 seconds for the gang with the most members in the area. Whenever the best gang gets the crate to 100%, all members of that gang receive 1-2.5-5k graalats(whichever is more reasonable).

If this is not enough challenge, players could also have to defend the truck picking up the crate with the truck acting as a big ol' flag for the gang to defend.

    Nursing
     Spoiler

What if players could get paid for healing those who can't afford full revive? The Job itself is rather self-explanatory: players get health kits they can use to restore recently killed players to full health for, idk, 25 graalats per person healed? At first, the job would be somewhat ineffective, as most players who revived in the hospital rush right out, but over time I'm sure people would become more patient and wait a bit.

    Union Bonus:
     Spoiler

+Union Members working near one another have increased speed in the Hospital.
+Union Members working near one another receive 5(+1 per nearby Union Member) additional graalats per person healed.

    Donut Making
     Spoiler

It's pretty clear that iEra is a much sadder place without a steady-rapid influx of donuts. It's time to change that.

    The Job:

Pretty similar to pizza making, donut making allows players to make a baker's dozen of donuts each time(meaning you get to keep one) you step in the kitchen and earn a decent amount of money for your hard work. First, players must fill a container with batter(normal, blueberry, etc) by using one of those back and forth meter things(where a little line goes back and forth on a bar and you have to press to stop the bar at the right position, such a green area). Then players stick the donuts in the oven while they go and grab a glazes(chocolate, honey, caramel, normal, strawberry, coffee, etc.) and toppings(nuts, sprinkles, fruit maybe, etc.). Finally, players top their donuts and receive their pay of 35-45 graalats.

    Donuts could heal... 5?

    Union Bonus:
     Spoiler

+Union Members baking donuts near one another receive 1.3(+0.05 per nearby Union Member)x the usual number of graalats per donut made.
+Union Members near one another at the time their donuts' finalization also receive a donut from allies.

    Job Concepts(Cont.)
     Spoiler

    Candy Trafficking
     Spoiler

An older idea of mine from back in 2014(I proposed it earlier than the actual thread it got), Candy Trafficking allows players to ride up on some of the abandoned households in iEra and supply some of the good folk with a resource we all depend on in this hard-knock life of ours: candy. Take to the streets with ya jolly ranchers and sweet mints and do business how it was meant to be done by gangsters.

    The Job:

Players approach any unused door in iEra(like Trick-or-Treating) and pick up HomelessWitch(the dealer) and then escort her(via car or walk) to perform the deal with a random NPC(The client) elsewhere. The dealer will be invincible until the actual deal takes place. This deal can end in multiple ways:

It's a setup!(30% chance)-The client turned out to be an undercover cop who calls for backup. The dealer must be protected at all costs! 2-3 cop baddies spawn around you with 50 hp, a nightstick melee, and speed equal to that of a player. They will immediately target the dealer but will take attention off of the dealer if attacked. If you are killed by them they will look away from you and attack the dealer.
If the dealer dies then you lose the job.
If you successfully kill the 3 cops then you are given 5 random pieces of candy.

Clean deal(40% chance)- The dealer approaches the client and begins dealing for 5 full seconds. During this time the player must stay by the dealer's side and protect them for the 5 seconds. Afterward the player must get back in the car with the dealer and drive them back to the spot they were picked up at. The player will receive 20-25$ when the deal is done and an additional 25-30 graalats when the dealer is dropped off. If the dealer or client dies, you will fail the mission.

Your choice(20%)- The dealer just isn't feeling it today. You received 15 candy that you can either keep or deliver to the client for 35-40 graalats. You will receive a PM saying:

“Not today man...here's the candy, deliver it for me, k?" Keep the candy?

The player can answer “Yes" which will give them 15 candy and end the job there or they can answer “No" which will send a new PM telling the player to go to a location and grab an NPC to deliver the goods. Afterward, if the candy is delivered, the player will receive 35-40 graalats for resisting temptation.

Trafficking Race(10% chance)- The player will receive and begin a regular Clean Deal job but another player(who has event bots turned on) will receive a PM telling them that if they intercept a certain deal(at a certain location), then they will receive 50 graalats. If the other player kills the dealer or you then they will receive the 50 graalats and you will fail the job. Your job is to get the dealer to the location, do the normal candy deal, and, if they show up, kill the other player.

Once the deal is completed the dealer can die without any consequences toward you.

    Union Bonus:
     Spoiler

+All Union Members recieve half(rounded up) the pay whenever a deal is completed.
+Union Members accompanying the deal can help the person doing the deal kill cop npcs.
+Nearby Union Members at the time of pickup reduce chance of it being a set up by 1% per Union Member but increase the chance for a Trafficking Race(sent to as many players as there are Union Members) by an equal amount.

    Hacking
     Spoiler

Players take a seat at a hacking center to hit iEra where it really hurts: The technological groin.

    The Job:

Players each take seats at a center for computers located God-knows-where and commence hacking to wire cash to their pocket. Players must solve a myriad(only like 5 or 4) of puzzles and perform a series of brain-based tricks to siphon 160(-10 graalats for every puzzle failed. You lose if you fail 3) graalats to their account per successful sequencing.

    Union Bonuses
     Spoiler

+Union Members receive 1/7 the money a hacker in their union receives from hacking.

    Job Revisions
     Spoiler

Just a few simple suggestions here and there to make legitimate grinding more rewarding. While the consequences of these changes could, potentially, be gargantuan on iEra's economy, there is no real reason not to make working for money in iEra easier aside from a reduced number of people whipping out their credit cards to purchase graalat packs. There are other ways to get players to spend IRL currency on a game, and with enough research we could easily find a way to remedy this change in funding(So those who own graal still get their bread or whatever the joke is). Besides, there are still those who work and don't have time to waste on farming that'll continue to purchase graalat packs.

    Mining
     Spoiler

    - Either reduce the time it takes to mine across the board or increase the scaling speed per level.
    - Remove "dud" rocks while refining. While obtaining minerals for weapon repair is relatively easy, it might not hurt to turn mining into more of a profession viable for monetary gain.
    - Possibly increase the frequency of valuable minerals such as Rubies, emeralds, diamond, etc.? This falls under the idea of turning mining into more of a profitable profession.
    - Raise the # of graalats rewarded for each "basic" mineral to 7 and increase the # of graalats rewarded for precious minerals by 3 each(so, 13 for diamonds, 11 for emeralds(I think), etc.).
    - Sell batteries inside of mines. This is a pretty basic one, but hey, can't see a reason why not.
    - Make batteries have a visible drain percentage and make purchasing battery cost scale with said percentage.

    Digging
     Spoiler

    - Everyone wants to up shell drop rates. I'd be doing a disservice ignoring the abundant cries about it.
    - Increase the # of graalats received from selling each shell by a flat amount across the board. It would affect trade tables the most, but I think it'd be a good change of pace.
    - Perhaps increase drop rate of crab shells? I'd about this, just thought of it.

    Trash-picking
     Spoiler

    - Increase the # of graalats received from selling each piece of trash by a flat amount across the board. Spawn rates seem fine.

    Mushroom-Picking
     Spoiler

    - Maybe increase the # of graalats received from selling each shroom to 7? Seems like a basic change that wouldn't affect much.

    Pizzzaaaaaaaaa
     Spoiler

    - Do Pizza Boards break? If so, do away with that.
    - Buff the range of pay per pizza.

    Car Missions
     Spoiler

    - Make. Cars. Invincible. At least while on car missions.
    - More payment depending on distance of mission.

    Mail Delivery
     Spoiler

    - Payment scaling with distance to delivery.

    I'm forgetting something...............

Anyhow, that's the end of that. This revision is to make grinding on graal a bit easier and more engaging to do with friends. Feel free to leave any comments/concerns below and everything you see above is subject to change if change is needed.

A common misconception for mailing is that when you die, you fail the mission. That is false however, as you do not fail the mission unlike car missions. Mailing, is my job of choice if I want instant cash (direct payment over sellables) or If I run out shovels. Imo, it's a solid job. To be able to mail efficiently, you need to be able to memorise the mail locations (so you don't have to look at the map every new mail. Pick up trash/mush along the way. And also a method I use is - only go to west post office, if you get a far mail, relog to get another one, keep relogging until you get a good mail. (I only reccomend doing this on phone or tablet as it takes too long to relog on pc). I also think that the payment system of mails should be reworked. Instead of the places having flat rates, payment should be based on how far the mail destination is from the post office.

Noted. I'll separate mail and car jobs and include the change you suggested.

These are some really well thought out, and intriguing ideas. I would not mind if any aspect of this was implemented.
I'd love it if there were some new jobs!

    Sounds good...

But it sounds too easy, make the cops in "Candy Trafficking" stronger. How about 75 HP instead of 25?

Sure. There are more of an abundance of powerful weapons these days than there were in 2014.

I'll do 50 since there is also the possibility of PK interference.

    Shameless bump <_<

Also, added in a Hacking Job, but I could use suggestions for the Union Bonuses

I doubt the hacking one will make it in-game... It might encourage players to hack iEra...

I like these ideas, new jobs haven't been introduced since I started playing. Most of the current jobs are pretty mundane.

Some of the ideas need a little rework for everything to fit as some players have different perspective so I think you need to do something in case one player quits or relogs. Anyways, all these ideas kinda makes me excited for the future era (haha get it).
