The m4s stats were given long before sam was even hired. In case you haven't noticed, in game stats don't really reflect a guns real life attributes.

The gun used to be pretty bad and was 4500 gralats. But yeah it doesn't really revolve around real life attributes.

Well the m4 used to actually be a lot better than it is now but, it was given its current stats in 2012(I believe?)

The m16 and m4 series are extremely similar but are in no terms the same thing. But you will hear the m4 referred to as a m4a1, m4a4, or just m4. They are all the same thing. The m4 is simply the carbine version of the m16.

Im pretty sure the 3-shot burst mode is a setting.(irl) they kinda did it in game with the attachment you can buy. Lets you shoot 2/3 bullets at a time
