I'd recommend you buy about 100k Gralats. Let me explain why.
If you have 100k gralats that means you can purchase 200 presents (provided they are not limited)

Let us say the chance of getting the exotic coin was 0.5% (THIS IS A MADE UP PROBABILITY).
This would mean in a theoretical world where everything was perfect and obeyed all probability scenarios blah blah blah you'd need 200 presents to guarantee an exotic coin. OR
If the chance of getting an exotic coin was 0.1%(THIS IS ALSO A MADE UP PROBABILITY), In the theoretical world you would need to buy 1000 of ($500) presents to guarantee an exotic coin which would cost you 500,000 gralats which is stupid if you ask me as you'd be better off spending it on auctions etc.


I'm not sure what the true percentage is, but If you don't want to spend hundreds on iTunes just to be disappointed, I'd recommend you attain 100,000 Gralats or so to have a fairly high chance of getting an item.

Note: Chance does come into play here, since we're not in a "perfect theoretical probability obeying world" someone could get 2 exotic coins in 2 re-occuring presents despite the chance of that happening being sooooooooooooooo low.

This is very subjective and you may end up going to buy 1 million gralats. I can't stop you; the choice is yours.
