I'm no GFX but are you using 0,0,0 for black?

As Lollo said, the file is a .Jpeg file, Era uploads can only be .PNG or .GIF files.
Also, the background of the head isnt transparent.

Meh it's a good chance to learn. But when you press save as you should be able to change the file type. That's how it works on my computer lol (Mac)
