Why CTF flag continue after death?

Sometimes after the Flag bearer in CTF dies people are able to pass it on by grabbing on to his dead body.

Why is that?

How do they do it?

Is it meant to happen or is it a glitch?

I'm assuming it's meant to happen. I think your team has to grab the flag for it to return back to your base.

Ik it’s meant to happen , assuming it adds up more of a ‘ Team ‘ value in the game itself , as if u still have a chance scoring if ur teammate is close and sadly dies . How it works ? No clue tbh i find it based on luck , sometimes i pick up flags , other times i dont .
