    About Making Games On Steam

    To whom may know:

I've heard that you must pay $100 to upload a game to Steam, but they'll give back the requested amount once said game makes $1000, is it true that they do so? If so, why? Seems quite odd to do so.

They originally had it so anyone could submit their games for free to a review team. But people abused the system and were submitting crap games and other troll/click-bait money schemes. So Steam added a registration fee in order to try and cut down on the junk submissions. About getting the deposit back after $1000 in sales I've never heard anything about that part.
